Favorite Odd Ball Songs

Post by whitewolf05 » Wed Dec 15, 2004 1:06 pm

One of my favorite odd ball songs would have to be Just Eat It by Weird Al.

Could you explain a bit more what you mean by "odd ball songs"?

Like weird songs? The singer is weird? I'm not totally getting it.

LadyFlameSniper, I think he means odd-ball as in strange or humorus songs. Like song parodies or songs that have amusing lyrics. Such as alot of 'Wierd Al' songs or non-parody songs that are like that. He'll need to clarify that better, but I believe that is what he meant given his pick.

The Streak by Ray Stevens
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

The Jedi song by Weird Al was always a favorite, but I loved his version of Gangsta's Paradise. "Amish Paradise" The video for that was so funny.

Hmmm, I'm going to take a guess and say that non-Weird Al songs are allowed ^_^. Anyway, my favorite oddball song is 'Solar Prestige A Gammon' by Elton John. I have never been able to figure out what the Hell he's talking about @_@

Oh, and Amish Paradise Kicks Ass too ~_^

As much as I love Weird Al, my favorite comedy song is "Green Eggs and Ham" by Moxy Früvous, a hilarious musical retelling of the Seuss classic.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I love the 'Lumberjack Song' by Monty Python, as well as their 'Meaning of Life', 'The Galaxy song' and the "I like Chinese" song. They just rock.

Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie would be my favorite odd-ball song. I looooove it. I don't care that it is 18 minutes long, I really do enjoy listening to it again and again cuz it always makes me laugh. If you've never heard it....you should download it and listen to it at least once. 8)

I like anything by Weird Al. Everyone tries to duplicate his style, but they know Weird Al will always come out on top.

I love oddball songs. Some of my favorites are "Tribute to the Greatest Song in the World" by the Tenacious D, "Star Trekken'" by Monty Python, and "The Lumberjack Song" by Monty Python.

I love the song "Yeah Toast", but I don't know who it's by. And I also like "These are Not My Pants" by Five Iron Frenzy and just about anything by Weird Al. Also, I don't know if this counts (but it has funny lyrics!) I love "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mixalot.
“See this butt? Yeah. Look at it. LOOK AT MY BUTT. This is all you’re getting. MY BUTT to look at it. Yeah, bet you’re sorry now, aren’t you? You’d like to see my cute fuzzy face, wouldn’t you? But all you’re getting is the BUTT. LOOK AT IT. LOOK AT MY BUTT. Sucker.”
The thing is, Henrietta has—how can I put this? Kind of a big butt. If Henrietta were a celebrity? She’d be J-Lo.
Not that J-Lo has what I would call a big butt. But others have opined that this is so. I think J-Lo has a normal, healthy butt. As does Henrietta.

Here's what I can think of from the top of my head (besides the Weird Al stuff):

"Rice Rice Baby"
"Will the Real Slim Shady Please Shut Up?"
That one song about Michael Jackson, which is sung to the tune of "Heal The World", which mentions Clorox Bleach (It was played on my local radio station back in '92)
"The 12 Pains of Christmas" (Sending Christmas cards! Hangovers! Breaking up the lights!)
"Make My Boobies One More Time" (it's about you-know-who and her "rumor")
"After all these years, you know it's not about control. It's about trying to do everything I can. And for you, it's about setting an example. Everyone looks up to you. They listen to you. If you tell them to fight, they'll fight. But they need to be inspired, and let's face it, 'Superman'...the last time you really inspired anyone... was when you were dead." -- Batman, to Superman, Infinite Crisis, issue 1

Pretty much any song from the B-52's, including "Devil's In My Car", "Big Bird", and especially "Hallucinating Pluto", which has my favorite line I ever heard in a song:

Get off your laser, daddy, and fly your telescope INTO THE NIGHT!
