619? I think you mean 678.

I called that number back in middle school. I lived in north carolina, and I don't remember what my area code was. But a man answered the phone, and I asked for Jenny, and he started cursing me out. It was great. =D

of course, now that I think back, I'm like "poor guy"

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Damn you and your corrections!

And I'm not too game to try the number. Especially since Aussie phone numbers have eight digits, not seven (unless of course I'm mistaken. I pretty much haven't budged from Brisbane since I arrived in 1992).

I'm surprised the guys of Tommy Tutone weren't hunted down for writing that song. I could see how it would drive people insane, having so many people crank-calling them all the time. Snopes.com has an article on it, in case you're interested.

I can't believe that there isn't a 900 number... It would be the perfect opportunity for a phone sex line to get a lot of business. o_O

That's hilarious. One of my friends tried to change her number into that. LMAO

Gee, there's an awful lot of guys named Jenny. j/k

That was so weird. I had heard the song, but I had never had the guts to call. Mainly because I thought it was just a fake number or something....I was young and didn't use my head.

I like 959's response. That's a great way to do testing. And I agree 678 was very rude. I mean, not everyone who does that is a dropout with no real life. That's just insulting. For all they know it could be kids doing it or someone who has some free time and not sure how to spend it. I understand being extremely annoyed at the constant calls, but still.... Oh, and I think 612 and 519 are unique. I mean, at least they have a sense of humor.

With this kind of problem, it's better to just have a sense of humor about it. Afterall, it's not like it's going to vanish anytime soon.

anyway, this was really cool to know.

If I remember correctly, one of the music magazines published the home phone numbers of the singer and guitarist after the song became a hit, in an act of revenge.

Thanks for the link. I was confused as to what this was about as I've never heard the song. Reminds me of somehtign my dad heard on TV once. Apparantly the address Hannibal Lecktor give the Tooth Fairy in Manhunter is one of the most commonly used fake addresses in the US. 3860 DeSoto-Highway, Captiva, Florida (Save yourself. Kill them all.)
Rosencrantz: Do you think death could be a boat?
Guildenstern: No; Death is not, it isn’t. Death is the ultimate negative; not being. You can’t not be on a boat.
Rosencrantz: I’ve frequently not been on boats.
Guildenstern: No; what you’ve been, is not on boats.

My mom said she called that number back in the day, and actually reached a chick named Jenny!

I tried calling it last week... Got nothing. >_< :-P
