Anybody getting funky weather?

Post by SailorSpace » Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:59 am

Last night, it was raining like crazy, and I wake up, and there's suddenly 4 inches of snow on the ground!!! Dude! Is anybody else getting weird weather around the country/world?

Not in Philadelphia, at least. Around here, we've just been getting rain, broken up by a couple of nice days, then rain again. It's like this in winter too, except replace the word "rain" with "snow".

Yes. Usually in November, in this part of Texas, it's cold and dry. Well, we got this sudden burst of rain, and it's been raining for about two weeks now. Yesterday, we had killer death storms (tornado warnings/watches, lightning, thunder, hail), and then they came again last night. Now, it's so windy outside, I can literally feel my apartment move.

Usually, this happens in October.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Ugh, that suck's Tiff!!!

In Missouri AND Kansas, there IS NO INBETWEEN! It's either hot, then cold, then snowy, then rainy....ugh.

I can't remember who said it, but they were sure right when they did: "If you don't like the weather in Missouri....Wait 10 mintues; it'll change."

I believe that it was Mark Twain [Samuel Clemens (sp?)] who said that, but I could be wrong. When I lived in missouri our weather was pretty predictable, except for Febuary... oh how I loath that month, it's just so evil. But I lived in Northern Missouri and the weather between N and S Missouri can be very different, and I don't know what part you're talking about so that might be why there's such a difference.
Apparently it's anusually warm here. They said we should be getting flurry's soon, but it's still to warm. But that could just be natureal peeks and valleys since they had an oddly cool summer, well, cooler than usual.

We've had some weird weather up here lately. A little while ago it happened similarly: Raining like crazy, then I woke up with snow on the ground. And then came the 'record highs' in my area, where everyone joyfully shed their coats and danced around...Now it's back to snow. It's snowing as I speak. They predict a major snow storm tonight. *nods*

The Lower mainland of B.C. is always raining, but today was really bad. It was heavely raining ice and it was sooo windy I could hardly walk straight (and poor peach had to walk home wearing a pinless kilt T_T)

Yeah, that's it...It was Mark Twain, thanks. ^_^ I live in Kansas City Missouri, right next to the Kansas state line, so we get everything. We are inbetween everybody, but our weather sure isn't inbetween!!!! T_T

A pinless kilt? You poor thing! That must have been horrible, man.
I hate it when it rains ice. And then the sidewalks get all slipery, and you fall down, and then the powerlines get all covered, and there's no power....
Aaah, Canada. You gotta love it. :)

We didn't get too much unusual weather, but it did take it long enough to get cold this autumn. It usually starts getting a little chilly around October, but I was still using my fan for most of the month. In fact, I didn't take my fan back downstairs in the basement until the other day. This one lady I know said she and her kids went swimming in their pool in the middle of October! Must be global warming or something....

Our weather is kinda' weird all year round. I'ts petty cold right now, for us anyways, but it always looks sunny, and like it would be warm. Uusually in our winters the morning are freezing and by afternoon it's pretty warm, which always kinda' annoys me, but I like the way it is right now.

It rained a lot here yesterday (I live in the same general area as Peachvampiress, so you already know that). I went to the corner store, and over the course of the twenty-minute round trip, I was completely soaked (despite having a two-person umbrella! Stupid wind). The weird thing is that today it's sunny, and you wouldn't believe it was raining so hard yesterday by looking outside now.

I heard on the news (I think it was, or it could have been the Weather Channel) that El Nino is going on in the Pacific right now, and that is causing the strange weather.

By the way, weird weather is the norm here in Louisiana. Today, it is storming. Tomorrow will be nice and sunny and cold. Saturday it is supposed to rain again.

A while ago it smelled like it was going to snow here, but it didn't, then the other day it looked like it was going to snow but it didn't. Does non-weather count as weird?

Sure can. There's this smell which is sharp and clear and really open the sinuses. As a kid did you never wake up in the morning and just 'know' it had snowed by the smell in the air? I love that smell...*goes off in nostalgic reverie*

It's DECEMBER now and we still have NO snow. I read in the paper today, the last time we had a 'green' Christmas was two years ago. I honestly don't remember that, let alone remember what I got for Christmas then.
