Which do you prefer?

Post by Sailor Moon » Mon Nov 08, 2004 3:52 pm

I don't know if this is the right forum, because the discussion pertains to comparisions, but not just the site comparisions. Anyway, I like doing comparisions a lot. I was wondering which kind you, as in, anyone else here who enjoys doing them as well, prefer. Do you prefer doing a challenging comparision with lots of edits, scene alterations and cuts, or do you prefer to do a more, easier style, with less cuts and scene alterations. Me? When I do comparisions, I like both versions.

A challenge is usually fun though. When I did my comparisions of the Japanese episodes of the first season finale to the English episode of the first season finale, it was a lot of fun writting in all the changes and watching it side by side. However, scene reversals and alterations were a bit hard, because when scenes that appear later on are used at different times, it makes me lose my place, and I have to rewind my fansubs as well as the other version a lot.

However, it felt really great after completing the comparision of the Japanese episodes of the first season finale with the English versions. It felt like a really did a lot of hard work. However, with episodes that are less work, it doesn't feel like a lot of work was done, however, it's a lot easier. It's entertaining doing comparisions with scenes played backwards, however, with tons of scene alterations, it takes a lot more time, but it's still entertaining as well.

I was wondering, for anyone else who likes to do comparisions for fun, whether they prefer the difficult ones which are challenging and take a long time, a lot of rewinding, but are fun to do, or the ones that are easier to do, take less time, but aren't as challenging.

If this is the wrong forum for this, then you can move it, because I was asking the opinions of everyone here who likes to do comparisions.

I do comparisons for an anime called "Sonic X" that was horribly dubbed by 4Kids (now I can see how Tiff, Bob, Dan, etc feel). Luckily, I have each episode (Sub & Dub) as files on my computer, so I can just compare them side-by-side on the same computer screen.

Aaaaaanyway, I like doing a challenging comparison with lots of stuff to write about.

MOD EDIT: moved to the "Off Topic" forum, since "Comparisons" is really for discussion of the SMU ones. No biggie, though, as I could see where the confusion would lie ^^
