Anyone here seen the new show starring Friends' Joey? I downloaded the first ep and I think it's great! ^_^

I love Friends, but this new show seems like a bad idea. I doubt it'll last more than a month or so. They should have not even tried to stem off by themselves with their own show. They're funny as a GROUP, not just as individuals. Take Jennifer Anistion for example. I laugh at her in friends. But as a movie actress? She bombs, in my book, every time.

Interesting opinion. I thought the first ep was pretty funny... But I guess that's just me.

Personally I want to see it. Joey was my favorite friend, and my friend thinks it's really funny. I missed it last week because I had other things to do.

Well, I must admit I've never really liked Friends, but a few days ago I bought a magazine that talks about series, and they had an article about Joey and the pilot episode that was presented to the TV channel.

It doesn't really make me want to see this more than the original series. It looks like there was only one actor willing to continue the group-of-people-living-near-each-other type of thing, so they pulled this off, and since Joey was the funniest, they thought, heck, he can manage.

I guess it *could* last if the series is different than Friends, if it finds its special way. One episode is not enough (heck, for PGSM, it took me at least 10 episodes to be addicted). Hmm.

For the fans, I cross my fingers, for myself, no, thanks, I'll go watch Charmed

The first episode was really funny. Who knows, maybe it'll last. There's a huge lack of new funny sitcoms.

Episode 2 airs tonight at 8PM EST on NBC. ^_^ I think I'll watch it live this time before I download it.

Personally, I have always hated Friends, so I don't think I'll be too interested in this new show.

I watched episode two. I liked it, mostly because it starred Joey, and he was always my favorite.

It's just called Joey, like the thread says. I probably wouldn't watch though if I didn't like Friends, but that's just me.

Honestly?

Any show that's resorting to bad incest jokes in only its second or third episode will not last long.

If they'd taken a page from Frasier's book (which is the manual for making a successful spinoff of a long-running, successful series), it would have been good. They took a page from the wrong book.
