Daria

Post by usachan » Sat Sep 11, 2004 11:23 pm

Hey, I was wondering, does anyone else here like Daria? Personally I love Daria, and I'm so sad mtv doesn't show it anymore, I know it's on some other channels but I don't get them at my house. I just love her outlook on high school students and people in general, and her sarcastic remarks are hysterical. What does everyone else think?

I love Daria. I watch her on The -N every now and then. Her sarcastic comments are hilarious, but if you don't understand her, you won't like the show (like my little brother)

I like how Tiffany and Sandy talk. It's so damn funny.

XD when I was new to the internet, and used to go into chat rooms..my s/n was "Daria".

What does that tell ya?

I love that show. I used to watch it religiously, and was a bit sad when they stopped showing it. The sarcastic remarks in those episodes were just wonderfully joygasmic.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Aaaaaaah, I see someone posts about Daria :P

I sooooo love this! I remember watching it on MTV in original version (and even in French is was "efficient" lol) and I was addicted. Then it stopped showing and I was kinda sad about it.

I tried to download some eps, but the quality was so crappy that I didn't understand a thing o.O

Weren't there a couple of movies made? I saw them on Deep Discount DVD but wasn't sure if I should fork out all that money getting them sent over here.

If anyone's seen them, are they any good?

I *think* there were two movies, and they were both made-for-TV. I know for sure that there's at least ONE, and it's called "Is it Fall Yet?" and it's all about summer vacation. Daria goes to a summer camp to be a counselor, and meets this grade-school boy who hates everything or something like that. It was okay. Not as good as the show. And then, I don't remember if this is the same movie or a different one, Jane goes to an artsy camp and her and Daria's friendship is put in jeopardy. I remember that one cuz it had the song "Freakin Friends" by Trent's band in it.
I love the show, and wish I got The N or Noggin or whatever. It's very occasionally shown on another channel, but I can't remember which one, because I don't get it. IMO, I think Daria's funnier than Beavis and Butthead, and I really like the way it's drawn/animated.

I think the other movie was called "Is It College Yet?" I saw it, but I forgot what it was about. You can buy both movies on dvd. I wish I could say the same about the show though, the movies were good, but the show is funnier. I really think the episodes need to come out on dvd.

Eeek! *missed this topic before*

I loved Daria. It was one of the funniest damn shows on television. I say was, because while it's still funny on Nogin, it's not nearly as funny. They censor it, so many of the best scenes are gone. For instance, when Jane puts on Daria's glasses and says "Hi, I'm Daria. Go to Hell." That is my favourite scene, and only half of it makes it on Nogin. ;__;

lol, that reminds me of the one where Jane turns popular for a while, and tries out for the cheer squad, then during the auditions comes to her senses and goes "cheer cheer cheer, yell yell yell, who cares who wins, we're all going to hell" lol.

I LOVE DARIA!!! When it was on mtv, it was one of my most absolute favorite shows to watch. I wish it were available on dvd. Daria's sister and the cheerleader girl...I can't remember her name now....they made me laugh sooo much because they were so dumb. I wish they'd show it on mtv again.

Daria

Post by Top Cat » Fri Jun 10, 2005 10:33 am

Is anyone here as big a Daria fan as I am? I DVR the nightly episodes on the N every night ( I HATE the N, but you take what you can get) and I think watching it is starting to affect me. My friend says that I'm the male version of Daria, and he's the male version of Jane. And I already talked in a flat voice. ...and you can see my unprofessional Daria avatar (and the tan background of the page I got it from... oh God, it's bootleg and ghetto at the same time). Top that, bitches! :)

Oh, and, yes, I've been a lurker, but real introductions take me a long time to formulate. I'm just testing the waters now.

i dvr them every night too. i just recently saw the second movie for the first time, and i can say that i was thoroughly pleased. i've been told the exact same thing for years, so i feel for you. you know, i hate the n too, all except for daria and degrassi (and certain episodes of that one show. what's it called? by soup 4 nuts, you know). the thing that pisses me off the most about the n, though is that they will cut some profanity and other stuff from daria that's perfectly cool for other shows. there's making out and such in degrassi all the time, but sometimes they cut it out of daria. and this one episode they let them say the word "damn" once, but then cut it out later. what the hell is that?! they mess up some of the funniest jokes that way, like this one: jane- "tis better to have loved and lost--" daria- "--if you know a good hitman." but, what are you gonna do...?

I used to watch it when it originally aired on MTV. I don't get The N, and I hate MTV anyway. So, of course, I haven't seen it in a long time.

Oh, and Top Cat-san, welcome to the forums, but you have to put your birthdate in your profile to stay here. Sorry, but it's a rule. ^_^

I used to watch Daria religiously. When I first got the internet (back when I was like...15), my screenname was always Daria when I went into chat rooms.

I occasionally caught it on N about two years ago, but only when I was at my mother's house and could use her satellite. =P she's in another state now, and i don't get the N, so I haven't seen Daria in years.

I remember I got my first exposure to Daria when she cameo'd on Beavis and Butthead occasionally. Then she got her own show, and I'd watch it constantly!!!

.....But knowing how much MTV blows these days, they don't show it anymore.... They have to show reruns of Road Rules or Surreal Life, or something else "cheesey" like that.

I never really was a big fan of the show, though my sister and I watched it occasionally on YTV when it came to Canada. But I think it got pulled off the air since then and I haven't seen the show in years.

But my birthdate was there.. I thought. Maybe I forgot to click Submit.

I recorded the them song "You're Standing on My Neck" from the tv onto my MiniDisc player, and listened to the raggedy 30-second thing about 20 times in repeat mode when i rode my bike today. Does that make me a bad person?
