Yes, you read it right! I was watching Good Morning America on AFN today at the shoppette and this new's blip floated accross the bottom of the screen, "Dog wiggles paw free and shoots Pencicola, Florida, Man who was trying to shoot 7 puppies". I was wondering if anybody had any more information on this story and I also just wanted to disscuss this bit of info.
I think that it's totally awsome, however, I wonder if the dog will be punished for shooting the man? Homicide? Self-defense? I just don't know

When I first read what the blip had said I suddenly got an image of Lasie meets Kill Bill.
EDIT: It wasn't CNN, it was Good Mornign America

I heard about this on the news, and in my opinion, this is what you call Karma. He was trying to kill the dogs, and one turned around and shot him back. But did the report ever say why he was trying to shoot the dogs, or was he just being an asshole?

Apparently he couldn't get rid of them so he decided to shoot them (asshole!). Unfortunatley he got 3 of the puppies befor one of them turned the gun on him
"A Florida man who allegedly decided to shoot seven puppies he couldn't give away was shot by one of the dogs police say he planned to kill."

Yes, it's definitely Karma. There are other more humane ways to get rid of a pet you don't want.

Hah. Idiot deserved it, shooting those animals like that. Sicko. Karma, indeed.
I hope they find good homes for the remaining puppies. For god's sake, if you "can't find a home", then go find a damn humane society, or GIVE them away. I'm sure he didn't try very hard to give them away.

Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

That's awful! Poor puppies

Stories like that make me sad. Shooting innocent animals is just the worst.

It's like that thing, I don't know if it was just in the Washington news or what, but two LAME SICKOS tied a stray dog to a tree and shot it repeatedly with a bow and arrow. They say that they were "putting it out of its' misery." I say, TIE THESE GUYS TO A TREE AND COME TO THEM WITH A BOW AND ARROW!!
Anyway, that story is really sort of funny in an ironic way. If he couldn't get rid of the dogs, he would shoot them. He didn't try hard to do so and after he shoots three of the dogs, one pulls his gun's trigger and shoots the guy back. REVENGE!!
However, I hope that the dog isn't punished or anything. This guy shouldn't have hurt the dogs in the first place.

The thing is, Henrietta has—how can I put this? Kind of a big butt. If Henrietta were a celebrity? She’d be J-Lo.
Not that J-Lo has what I would call a big butt. But others have opined that this is so. I think J-Lo has a normal, healthy butt. As does Henrietta.

We were talking about this is Law class yesterday. Since playing Devil's Advocate is a large part of class, my teacher (a former lawyer) was trying to defend this guy. He was saying it's not really different from living on a farm where it's normal to kill any excess puppies people have. He says that if this guy was raised on a farm that he might have thought it was normal.

I think the bastard deserved what he got. Animal abuse is horrific, and personally I think people trying to hurt animals should be tortured within an inch of their lives, then chopped with a blunt axe until they're dead, fed to the dogs, and burn in hell for the rest of eternity.

That is one kick-ass puppy! XD
I've been on several farms, and they never shot any surplus animals. They sold them, auctioned them off, or gave them away if they needed to. The only time an animal was shot is when it had been
severely injured (like if it was maimed by a wild animal) and treatment wasn't possible for some reason. You don't put an animal out of its misery unless it's actually
in misery. Otherwise you're shootin' the money. (I'm, not trying to sound cold, but farm animals are used for profits. Even the house pets can make money.)
ABC News wrote:As for the future of the dogs, the mother may be returned to the Bradfords, but the puppies will be put up for adoption, authorities said.
The mother may be given back? How can you possibly give a dog to someone who's stupid enough to think shooting puppies is a good way to get rid of them?

I think that this all boiles down to one very important point. SPAY AND NUDER YOUR PETS.
In a weird way, he acctually ended up helping the puppies. I'm not saying what he did was right in ANY way. However, none of those puppies will be put down, can you imagine the media scandle at that, "Pound Put's Down HERO Puppies!"

When I first saw the title for this I must admit, I busted out laughing. The title was just so bizarre. But I got really upset when I found out what the circumstances were.
