*Does anyone know if The Powerpuff Girls is an American parody of magical girl anime, or is it anime? I'm not sure where it's produced, but I've never heard of it being a dub of a Japanese show, either. You can PM me about it so as to not get off topic.
PPG was written by an American student who did it as a college project. He originally called it "The Whoop-Ass Girls" (I'm not kidding.) I guess the people who turned it into a cartoon loved it, and it got picked up and called "The PowerPuff Girls." The original creator said that anime influenced him a bit, so that's why sometimes you'll see a lot of anime elements (the eyes, the blinking noises, etc)

Thank you for explaining that. I didn't start to think it was anime until two things came along:
1) I saw something that looked like Japanese writing on a book on the show.
2) The guy who makes the Powerpuff Girls comics was at ACen.
1) Yes, I know what you're talking about...Once, Bubbles was reading a manga about a bunny, and there was Japanese writing all over it.
2) Conventions have a lot of american guests, from voice actors to authors to creators of shows.

And I forgive you too, since even mods can make mistakes like that sometimes.

To get back on topic, someone mentioned they watched Tiny Toon Adventures. I've watched that too...I can't believe I forgot about it considering I still like it. Kid versions of the Looney Tunes...somewhat the same as the originals but with their own personalities too. I find it amusing that the kid Elmer Fudd is a girl who's crazy about hugging animals instead of hunting them. She seems to be more successful at her goals than Elmer, since she scares the other Tiny Toons, while Bugs and Daffy just mocked Elmer.

I still have a copy of Tiny Toons' "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" on VHS....watching Buster Bunny "play" the theme song with his tongue is always a scream to watch!

It's still on, but you have to get up early in the morning to see it.

I always liked that part, and would occasionally watch the whole sequence multiple times!

*shudder* I knew a girl once who had tapes of it and sat me down and made me watch it...I had never seen it, so I thought "eh, I'll give it a shot". I HATED it. I cannot stand that show. It's so annoying in every way LOL Too bad yiou can't watch it without it being dubbed, though.

In fact, Spongebob is SO stupid, it's funny!
Not to mention it holds the record for 'Most Annoying Theme Song'

Tiny Toon Adventures was my favorite show when I was in 4th grade. I haven't seen very much of it in a long time, but when night last summer when I had insomnia I ended up staying up all night watching TV, and I came across an old episode on Nickelodeon early in the morning. The theme was looking out for the little guy, and the showed one of the cartoons with Plucky as the Toxic Revenger. I remembered that episode.

Has anyone seen Baby Looney Tunes? I've never seen it, but is it pretty much the same show as Tiny Toons?

Anyone else see the new episode of Samurai Jack that was on tonight? That episode was awesome!
These bounty hunters spent the whole episode plotting to kill Jack to collect the bounty on his head, and eventually they all work together to come up with a plan. They put the plan into action once Jack finally shows up, and he kicks all their asses in less than 10 seconds. A very cool scene, that was.
