Can I add to that? I once bunked with a fat person who was fat due to a medical condition where she couldn't lose weight.

I'll try my best, here:

Missouri:
*Cow tipping is not as popular as you may think.
*Missourians are NOT hicks.
*Having to change from the hot air to the cold air in the same day is a myth.
*Living in the "Show Me!" state DOES NOT mean "Show me your boobs!"
(But about the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals not being very good... Well, you can't really argue that, lol)

Nerds:
*"Nerds" have a life, too.
*Having glasses AND braces DOES NOT make you a nerd!!
*Nerdy-type people don't always have clogged noses, OR speak in a high pitched voice.
*Nerds are NOT afraid of society just because they're afraid of getting their ass kicked.
*Just because you are skilled at a video game you like DOESN'T make you a nerd.
*If you are skilled at using the computer, you're not a nerd.
*Just because you like anime, you're DEFINATELY not a nerd!

Goths:
*Goth's dress up in colors (like pink, yellow, light blue), too.
*Having ten million piercings and tattoo's doesn't mean you're a goth.
*Not every single goth in the world wants to kill everyone they meet.
*Not every single goth breaks every single rule there is.
*Goth's aren't ass holes.

Teachers:
*Teacher's DON'T have eyes in the back of their head.
*They don't fail you on purpose.
*They don't have favorite and least-favorite students (well... my 9th grade spanish teacher did -_-)

Parents:
*Your parent's aren't as dumb as you think.
*They really are looking out for your best interest.
*Parents prevent you from doing certain things because they might have done the same thing when they were young, realized it was dumb, and don't want you to make the same mistake.

Okay, I'm done now.

I haven't heard any Pittsburgh stereotypes yet, but I'll just make sure they don't turn up....

We have clean air and water/Not Everyone is a steelworker

While it was possible to leave your home in a white shirt and return in a black or grey one about 30 years ago, there has been considerable cleanup since then. In the early 90s we were voted the cleanest city in the US twice, and the city is still voted as one of the most beautiful in the country (based on the view from Mt. Washington at night and the inbound exit from the Liberty tunnels). As for the steel (or 'still', if you will) mills, there aren't any mills left within the city limits of Pittsburgh, and the greater Pittsburgh area only has the Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock and the Clariton Coke Works, the other dozen or so have all folded.

Not all Catholics...

*are close minded bigots
*and Christians for that matter think that gays should burn in hell, infact, many are strongly for gay rights. (I'm a strong supporter for gay rights)
*are republican/democrat (I've heard it both ways)
*Blindly follow the pope or what the church says
*Believe that the bible is 100% truth, many recognize that most of it is meant to be symbolic
*Go to church every Sunday
*Condemn everyone to hell
*Pray every night
*Send their children to Private Catholic Schools
*Want to send their children to convents
*Save sex for marriage
*are against birth control
*are pro-life
*Have perfect family lives
*Carry around rosaries
*Want to convert everyone they meet
*Think evolution is totally false and should not be taught in schools
*Want every book censored
*Force their beliefs on their children
*are offended by *Catholic* jokes
*think their religion is the only correct one
*are zelots

Cincinnati, Ohio
*not everyone is racists
*not everyone has asthma
*Not everyone hates Cleveland
*There is stuff to do here
*We're not all boarded up in our houses because of riots
*Not everyone is a criminal
*Not everyone is a hick, infact, there's not many here unless you go to certain areas
*Yes, some people do leave the city and move some place else.

Not all Red-Heads:

*Have a southern drawl
*Are skinny
*Have freckles (I guess I shouldn't be talking but whatever...)
*Have a nasal voice
*Are hot-tempered

In fact... the only hot-tempered red-heads I know dye their hair...

Colorado:
Not all of us live in the mountains.
The actual hotel in the movie 'The Shining' is not all far up in the mountains away from civilization. XD
I don't go to Columbine. I don't know anyone from Columbine. I was only 10 in 1999.
I don't eat Rocky Mountain oysters.
If anyone knows anymore stereotypes about Colorado please let me know.

Teachers:
If you're being punished, don't whine and bitch. You really need to know the difference between a teacher actually being unfair, or if it's just you, the student, being a cocky little jackass.

General:
One time I wore all black for a few weeks. Nothing flashy or over-the-top, it was just a simple black sweater and jeans. For those few weeks people asked me, "Are you, like, Goth?" Um, no. And then when I was done wearing black for a while a wore a hot pink shirt to school. This one Goth girl came up to me and said, "You're such a little poser! You try to be all Goth and now you're being all preppy!"
 When the fuck did I ever claim to be Goth!?!?!?!?! And why does pink = prep?

Here are some stereotypes that I go through:
*Just b/c I am white does not mean I am racist. I'm not racist.
* Just b/c I am for gay rights makes me gay or bi, I'm not either.
*I am skinny and pale so that automatically makes me an anorexic.

Not all guys...
* Like sports.
*Think women are objects
*Crave sex and masturbate
*Are dumb
*Call others fags or homos
*Are perverted
*Like to fart
*Like to burp
*Hate animé
*That dislike doing that stuff are gay
Yes, I hate alot of people in my school

I haven't seen any Philadelphia stereotypes debunked yet, so here goes.

Philadelphians:

*Do not eat cheesesteaks 24/7
*Do not live in the ghetto (Some do, but most of us don't.)
*Aren't in gangs (Again, some people are...)
*Don't all like rap (I personally hate it.)
*Usually can't tell you EXACTLY where Independence Mall/the Liberty Bell/some other historical place is (Most of us don't know or care.)
*Went to the University of Penn or Drexel
*Are black
*Call it "The City of Brotherly Love" (NO ONE here calls it that, actually.)
*Are not the same thing as Amish people (Oh my GOD. People, Lancaster County is at least an hour away from the Philadelphia area!)

We had a drought that lasted for a few years, mostly due to LACK of snow. :(

I had a few gay friends back where I used to lived and I learned a few stereotypes that are wrong reguarding crossdressers

1. Crossdresser = gay. WRONG!!! Its not about sexuality. Its not to say a crossdresser cant be gay its just that one doesnt always go with the other. The reverse of this is also true not all gay men wear panties and other female apparel

2. Crossdressers seek to become the opposite gender. Yes this is wrong people! People who desire to become the opposite gender through medicine or surgery are transexuals something completely different. If you call a transexual a crossdresser your likely to get slapped or yelled at.

3. Crossdressers and Drag Queens are the same thing. This is not even close to being true. Drag Queens are often stage preformers and are very flashy, where as crossdressers tend to be more laid back about it. I dont know if its true that Drag Queens are mostly gay but all the ones Ive met or heard of have been.

Oh yeah, about the new thing on marriage at 14 and 15 in Colorado.....

Ugh! Hell no! I don't approve of it! I didn't even want to date boys at that age because I thought they were annoying, let alone MARRY one! That is the abrsurd idea ever! >.<

EDIT: Oopsy...I should've been more specific. Well, when I went to the link that's kind of what people WERE saying on the message board. Like, "Jeez, I thought Colorado was a modern state. ya know since they have ski resorts and all. ( :? ) I didn't know they were a bunch of hicks." (or junk along those lines.) So I came here to rant about that but I wasn't clear enough. Sorry 'bout that.

=P SeiUsa might want to specify that, then. It sounds like they're just..ranting about the new law, rather than saying anything about stereotypes. Although, I still fail to see how it's a stereotype, since it's a new law and...people..aren't going around saying "EVERYONE IN COLORADO WANTS TO MARRY THEIR 15 YEAR OLD KIDS OFF =D" o_O

*Nods* that really tends to annoy me. Black looks really good on a lot of people (myself included), and so some people own a lot of it. It doesn't mean they sit in their rooms and cut themselves -_-
