That's because there is no musical called Springtime for Hitler. You're thinking of The Producers.Kameko wrote:What?! Three pages and yet still no mention of Springtime for Hitler?

No I'm not. I'm thinking of Springtime for Hitler. You completely missed the joke.Jusenkyo no Pikachu wrote:That's because there is no musical called Springtime for Hitler. You're thinking of The Producers.Kameko wrote:What?! Three pages and yet still no mention of Springtime for Hitler?
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

The Producers was in fact called Springtime for Hitler in several countries. I merely assumed that that carried over to the musical.Kameko wrote:No I'm not. I'm thinking of Springtime for Hitler. In the US it has always been referred to as The Producers. I've only seen the movie, never the musical.

I just saw Rent (the stage show) for the second time....and it was amazing. That show has definately become one of my favorites. I also say Wicked on stage.....absolutely breathtaking. Both of those shows are absolutley fantastic.
Also, has anyone ever listened to I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change? If you haven't I highly recommend it, I've probably listened to the whole show at least 40 times.....and it still makes me laugh. Another really good one to listen to is called Frogs. It's also quite amusing. Has anyone else ever listened to those? What are you're opinions?

I am in love with theatre. I study drama and everything. The big question: How do you feel about musicals? I don't care what you say, but I'm doing a research paper and I want to know.
My favorite musicals are Phantom of the Opera and RENT, and my favorite song is The Music of the Night. I've been in Oliver!, Suessical. The Fantatiks, Godspell, and a whole bunch of others I don't really need to list.
side note: the lyrics that made me laugh the most when i first heard them were "there's children throwing snowballs instead of throwing heads" from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and "Gee, Officer Krupky, krup you!" from West Side Story. (giggles like the little girl she is inside)!!

The Music of the Night and Tuxedo Mirage are what keep me from going completely INSANE! (right...)

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I've only ever seen musical film adaptions.
Phantom of the opera is one of my all time favourites, I love the story and the songs.
Hairspray, the original one. I saw this when I was a child and I've never forgotten it.
Grease
Nightmare before Christmas.
Sera Myu-I love these musicals.
And my favourite Disney Musicals are Beauty and the Beast, Mulan and Pocahontas.
I also like Rocky Horror Picture Show just because it was so weird.

You'd be as well off lumping 1962's The Little Shop of Horrors into that category.Iced_Cappucino wrote:I've only ever seen musical film adaptions.

Incidentally, I bought the musical Hairspray DVD on Wednesday. And now I can hear the bells. Well, don'tcha hear them chime? Can'tcha feel my heartbeat keeping perfect time?
ETA: Semi-interesting titbit: The end credits feature a song, Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now, sung by Ricki Lake (Original Tracy), Marissa Janet Winokur (Stage Tracy) and Nikki Blonsky.
