I like waffles...

Yeah, so I had a waffle the other day, and boy, was it good. I'm sure Anthy knows what I'm talking about.

Yes, yes, indeed I do. *grin*

<mod>But unless this topic can be open to users who aren't in the know, it'll probably be locked. =/ Sorry.</mod>

edit: Nevermind, you figured out a better place to put something like this, so unless people want to talk about their favorite kind of waffle, I'll leave an admin to lock it.

Well, since I'm always up for taking a joke topic and being serious about it (case in point). . . here are some random waffle thoughts:

Waffles are pretty good, but only as a once-in-a-while thing. I tried eating the frozen waffles as a daily breakfast, and they lose their luster quickly. The best waffles are at IHOPs or Denny's restaurants. I like the latter because they have their logo ironed right into the waffle. I like to eat round waffles mathematically, Starting with cutting off the round edges to leave a square. Then going one quarter at a time. I don't use syrup, but I like a lot of butter, and I try to get an equal amount in each square. Larger squares are better than small. Should be served with bacon and/or sausage and/or ham. And scrambled eggs. And a small glass of juice and a large glass of milk, the juice to be drunk first.

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

To be honest with you, I don't care for waffles too much. I'm more of a pancake kind of guy.

Instead of putting butter on my pancakes and then pouring syrup all over it, I tend to like to use Peanut Butter as a replacement for regular butter. Then put the syrup on. MMM. It's really good, you all should try it.

Also, (without using the peanut butter), really it's not the WAFFLE or the PANCAKE itself that's good (unless you get like, a special kind, like from IHOP or something), but usually it's the kind of syrup that makes or breaks it.

I'm with Guru on this one. I prefer pancakes over waffles. Though I don't mind waffles... and I do like using Canadian maple syrup from Quebec on them. They come in cans. It's amazing. You guys should try it.

ADMIN MODE: Meh, since we're actually discussing something, we'll leave it.

And I really don't like pancakes, becuase my dad would make them EVERY SUNDAY, and I got so damn tired of them. Waffles, on the other hand, I LOVE. I smother them in syrup and butter until they're almost soggy =D

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

One of the guys at camp made a waffle with coke and... um... only-god-knows-what in it.

It was a pretty damn good waffle. Mmm.

Most pancakes are too thick IMO. However, I have been to the Country Kitchen restaurants, and their's are so think and rich, that they're like concentrated, and those were good, unexpectedly. But I couldn't finish them. And when my mother remarried, we stayed at a fancy hotel and I had pancakes with honey and almonds, and those were really gourmet.

(Maybe the pancake thread should be split off from the waffle thread? j/k ^_^)

Also, while I've never tried it on waffles or pancakes, my breakfast condiment of choice is Nutella. Anyone else love this stuff?

Waffles are ok but I'm more of a pancake person. IHOP's pancakes are too yummy, especially the chocolate chip ones. Mmm and I don't use syrup a lot. I prefer honey on both

I'll only eat pancakes if someone cuts up apples to put in it or smuther them in strawberries. If not, waffles all the way ... with Butter Maple syrup. Mmmm. The best waffle I had was at this 24 breakfast diner. It was smuthered in this stawberry syrup thing with strawberries cut up in it (... I like strawberries) with whip cream .... MMmmm. It was at like, a Waffle Kitchen (some areas they are called "The Waffle House").

Wow, I didn't expect this much talking on my post.

Anyway, yeah, that waffle WAS nasty. I remember the "holy grail" the group at our camp gave us. It had sprite, pepsi, sugar, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, some snot, gatorade, milk, and other random things. It was a nice green color. They served it with waffles. Nasty.

I personally do truly like waffles, since they're easier to make. But, as I learned in camp, bad waffles can be made. In fact, if it weren't for a bad waffle, I wouldn't have made this topic to begin with.

I like waffles, not too bad of a food. My dad used to make them when I was a kid. We had the heart shaped waffle maker. Although I sometimes had to stop halfway through one of those, they were super thick. If I'm looking for quick and small I love Eggo's.

I also have a deep love for pancakes...although I still have trouble making them the right size and fully cooked.

Would you believe I've *never* had a waffle? They sound pretty delicious. So I'll consider myself a pancake person until I can try one...

My grandmother used to make the BEST pancakes this side of Orion's Belt. Now she makes waffles as well. :)

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

Waffles are very good things. Like Tiff, I like to smother them with butter and syrup (Canadian Maple syrup DOES rock), and then gobble them all up. It became my ritual for awhile to eat them while watching Gundam Wing at 6:30am.

Mr. James : Not even.
Dave : I''m sitting on a rather sharp tack.
Mr. James : That's gotta hurt.
Dave : Well, life's a bitch...

Dave : My...

I prefer round waffles. I always eat the rounded edges first, and then quarter the square evenly. There must also be plenty of thick syrup, with a little bit of melted butter. The butter must melt. Cold butter is icky.

An actual conversation I had with my mother a few days ago:

Me: *squaring my round waffle*
Mom: Why don't you just have square waffles to begin with?
Me: Because then I'd have to make the square ones into triangles.
Mom: ...?
Me: Do not question the logic of waffles.
