Feeling like a kid

Just want to know how some of you people become a kid again? I read, play games, watch animes. But it doesn't seem to be enough.

Sorry, but you can't really go back to being a kid. All the things you do can make you feel like a kid, but you can't be a kid again, unless you never grow up mentally.

As true as that may be, I get his point...Perhaps it just should have been worded: "How do you make yourself feel like a kid again?"

I play on playgrounds....You know, on the swings I stuff. I don't do it often, but if I'm in a park, and there are swings..hell yeah. I go as high as I can ^^

I play with some of my students when I student-teach, or with the kids I babysit...toys and all.

I get snow-cones or ice cream on hot summer days. I eat s'mores and then let the chocolate and marshmallow get ALL over my hands and face XD

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

He may have meant it that way.

By the way, I also go to the park to swing.^_^

I have a box that I call "My Box of Happy Days". In it is all the stuff I loved when I was younger. My Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tapes, toys, and comics, two episodes of the Super Mario Bros. Show and some toys, an episode of Alvin and the Chipmunks and some toys, some of the old school Nintendo games (Super Mario Bros, 1,2,and 3). Usually if I watch that, I feel like I'm reliving my childhood. I recently bought the first season of TMNT on DVD, and although it loses it's 80s feel being on DVD, it still kicks ass.

Recently I got rid of most of my Sailormoon toys (they were the ugly dolls from 1995) but I kept the role playing toys (Moon Stick, Cutie Moon Rod, Henshin Locket, Star Locket, and Sailor V's Compact). Sometimes when no ones at home I'll run around with the Cutie Moon Rod going "MOON PRINCESS HALATION!!" while twirling it and run downstairs and turn off all the lights so I can see the rods light better.

Oh come on, like none of you ever did this.

Like other people mentioned, to feel like a kid again, I play on the swings. I also enjoyed anime for the past 12 years or so (not realizing that I was watching anime during the earlier years), so that also helps me feel like a kid again. My friends and I recently went to a carnival and we went on the merry-go-round XD

Those things help a lot, but they'll never take away my worries as an adult. As a kid, you have no cares at all, but as an adult, you can forget about them for that moment when you're reliving your choldhood, but they're not something you can forget about completely. It's always nice to have that short moment where you don't have to worry about your grades in college or how you're going to pay next month's rent.

My biggest difference from my childhood to now was the way I used my imagination back then. I could look at a TV show or movie and imagine myself being part of it, even if it were in a Mary Sue kind of situation. As I grew up, imagination turned into analysis, fantasy into philosophy. So, although it's no longer effortless, my trip back into youth involves forcing myself to fantasize things I could never possibly achieve.

Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I love to swing whenever I can too, and sometimes me and some friends will go to a park and play some games which is fun. My favorite right now is one we play in the dark called sardines, which is sort of a reverse hide-n-go seek. The person who's it finds a place to hide and everyone else has to go find them, When someone finds them, they hide there too, until it's down to one last person still looking who becomes it for the next round. One time, I hid under a a big pine tree and sat under there perfectly still, a few friends practically looked right at me when looking under the tree, and didn't see me.

I also like to play old school games. I grew up on the NES and SNES, so playing my old games is like being a kid again, and increasing my collection for the older systems brings it back too. The new limited edition retro NES skin GBA SP is great since it did the same thing (which convinced me to pay for full $100 for a new SP), as well as the re-releases of old school games in various forms.

Watching Cartoon Network does it for me too. I have yet to grow out of watching cartoons, hell, my latest weblog post is about one of the best episodes of a show that I've seen, one of the better ones in the past few years. Also at my parent's house are various VHS tapes of stuff we taped way back when, those definetly bring me back. And the 80s revival going on right now too is a nice trip back.

I don't know. I enjoy feeling my current age. Going clubbing, partying, things like that. I've never really felt the urge to feel like a (younger) kid again.

3 words: Box of crayons. I just bought a 120-crayon box, and just the smell of the crayons took me back to when I was a kid. Coloring is relaxing.

Crayons are indeed good for going back. I used to color a lot of my favorite fictional characters. I think I even did Sailor Moon once. I haven't though for a very long time. I should get a big box of Crayolas, just to have for when the mood strikes me. I remember when 72 was the most you could get, unless you got like a novelty box from FAO Schwarz or something.

Though I tend not to act too much like a kid these days, I suppose playing video games qualifies to a certain extent.

And on the idea of playing with RP items like the Moon Stick and the like, I occassionally find myself swinging around various Transformers I have up here, making driving or flying sounds as they blaze past each other.

I play with the flip-style cell phones sometimes. Flip it open and scream "CELLULAR MOON POWER" or something. Of course, this is because I'm certifiably insane, not because I want to revert to my youth. ^^;;

Heh, I think there's always going to be this rather childlike part of me who's always questioning things and wanting to play. I don't really necessarily want or not want to feel like a child--the difficult thing for me is remembering that I really AM 19 now! I do have a bit of an Amazoness Quartet complex, I'd really like to not grow up, a lot of the adult world scares me just like it does them! I'm rather spoiled and would like it to stay that way. I know, though, that I can find jobs out there that have working conditions I can handle--I have one already on Saturdays where I can be alone (most of the time) and wear headphones.

I still play with my Senshi dolls like they're meant to be PLAYED with instead of as collectors items, I bring them places and don't get scolded by adults there. I really don't care if people see me playing or being into cartoons or anime, they're the ones who are going to wish they were in touch with their "inner child" like me! (of course, mine's got a grip hold on me and doesn't want to let go)

I don't really do that much to try to be a kid again. I've always been the type I'd rather act my age instead of doing things that are in the past.
