How many of you like rap and hip-hop? And what do you think of people in the hip-hop community and the community itself?
I like some rap, specifically the ones that don't go on forever about bitches and hoes and money and cars and shooting. And some people in hip-hop piss me off. Like Chingy, for example. He's just annoyingly arrogant. He said in a Rolling Stone interview that he carries a box of Magnum condoms with him everywhere he goes and that he rapped about having a menage a'trois (sp?) and it actually came true. Urgh.
EDIT: A certain idiot forgot to put the "and Hip-Hop" part in the title.

sadly, not being stereotypical, but just about all the black guys are punks that listen or do their own rap. its pretty bad. im ok with the early early rap my 20 year old brother had, its funny. eminem and his little followers dont rub well with me. and how they say stuff bad about me when i say i dont like him. grrr
hip hop....not really into it. i liked the rapping granny
she was great.

Rap can be good, but when I hear my favorite singers start rapping in their songs out of nowhere, it scares me. Like Kelly Chen and Coco Lee rapping in one of their Mandarin or Cantonese songs, and they rap in English. Or when a j-pop/k-pop singer just starts rapping in their song and it really doesn't fit.
Eminem is the only rapper I like, pretty much.
Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I'm a huge fan of rap and hip-hop, rap more than anything else. My favorites are B.I.G., 2-Pac, Jay Z, Eminem, and 50 Cent right now, although I'm starting to enjoy some joints from Pharaoh Monch, Nas, and Obie Trice :) Of course, I love the old-school stuff, like older LL Cool J, Run DMC, and such.

I have this CD with a bunch of J-pop and techno songs on it, and one of the songs has a J-rap segment in it. One day, me and a friend were driving to Target, and we stopped at a stoplight next to a car with hardcore rap spilling out, making our car shake. I'm talking rap "I'm goin' kill you, yo' momma, yo' daddy, yo' etc...." It was sooo annoying! So, we turned my car's CD player up (with the J-rap segment on), and drowned out their music! It was soo fun! They turned and looked at us, and we just smiled and bobbed our heads! I wanna do it again...
I like some rap music, but not all. It has to have a point, not just "I'm a pimp" or "I'ma kill you!" etc. Like, Eminem I like (sometimes). Fifty Cent bugs me (except for Wanksta, that song I liked), and I'm not fond of Lil' Kim. I like Missy Elliot, she's great! I like Dickie Smalls (he's a jewish comedian who took this stage name on a rap song, I can't remember his real name though) and that's about it. Oh! And Sean Paul! He's good too!

I love rap and hiphop. But I admit there's quite a few songs I like for the beats and not so much for the lyrics.
And oh god I can't stand Chingy. He's sooo annoying, sounds like a Looney Tunes character. He also said in an interview he asked all of the girls in the "Right Thurr" video to go out with him and they all said no.
That's too funny

I respect Eminem. I relate to his upbringing, because I grew up with my mom in a trailer park and campground when I was younger, so I kinda get where he comes from sometimes. I don't like his violent themes much, but hey, they're his feelings and I have them too sometimes. ^^;
Oh... and I LOOOOOOVE Lil' Kim. ::sniffle:: She makes me wiggle.

I like the more old school stuff. Wu-Tang, Ice-T, NWA, and Sugarhill Gang. Method Man/Redman and the soundtrack to Fear of a Black Hat are also good.
Not too fond of white rappers. Eminem seems to push it too far at times and the Beastie Boys have become a novelty. And out of all the white rappers, most haven't lasted. And I am white, BTW.
But I prefer Judas Priest blaring out of my car speakers any day.
