I <3 the 90s

Post by ParaKiss_Groupie » Wed Jul 14, 2004 1:51 pm

Is anyone else watching this? I adore it. I'm reliving all my favourite moments. Power Rangers, Lorena Bobbit, Murhpy Brown, the beginning of my obsession with Quentin Tarantino......................... I'm so happy right now.

I think I've heard of this before. I actually think it's a VH1 thing, so muchmoremusic might get it eventually (they always get a lot of their stuff).

But isn't the stuff we get on MMM reruns from the last year or two?

Well, they're nostalgia shows, so it's not like they'll be dated. ^_^ Can we talk about the other "I love the. . . " serieses here? Because when they first aired I Love the 80s, I sat there in awe, I kept saying "Holy crap, someone else remembers that!?"

Of course we can. I was plastered to my couch for all of 80s, 80s Strikes Back, and 70s. They're absolutely great, and I love them. From screaming "I remember that!" to "Now, c'mon... Of course you didn't like the Care Bears. You were 20 when they came out!", I've annoyed everyone else in my house with these shows. And since I remember much more of the 90s than I do the 80s (was born in '86), it makes it that much better.

Plus, any excuse to look at Hal Sparks is great. *lubs teh Hal*

I like this show so far.
The best moment has to be when they talked about power rangers and the guy that plays the original black ranger said exactly what I was thinking.
"Why is a black man playing the black ranger, and why is an asian girl playing the yellow ranger."
That show is a hoot, its just so bad i cant help but laugh in joy watching it even now. Though id love to get my hands on the original show from japan.

I love the "I love the 90's"! I missed last night's though. I was kinda sad, but then I remembered that they'll probably play them again this weekend.

 They have an I Love the 80s. T_T I want to see :peach LOVES the 80s: Ah the 90s, Beanie Babies, Pokemon, Power Rangers, and what I think is the declining end of the quality of music :peach hates all of the new music and wants to burn it:

How many episodes long is it?

This weekend, next weekend, next month, this is Vh1, its not like they have music to get in the way :D
Seriously though, they will be replaying them a lot over the next week. The 93 one is the best so far.

10, one for each year. And then there was ten more, called I Love the 80s Strikes Back. And ten I Love the 70ses. I need to go back to the website and see some of the list, or else wait for them to re-air the older ones.

10 episodes for each year! Bitchin' T_T I want to see. I'm guessing they're going over fads and big things that happened in those years. Have they mentioned Sailormoon yet

10 episodes for each year!
No, no, no. Ten episodes all together, ONE for each year. 10 eps for every year would be crazy. LOL.

"What do you want for your birthday?" "Power Rangers!!" "What do you want for Xmas?" "Power Rangers!" lmao. I've been watching them, too. I watched all of the 80's, too, and sorta skimmed thru/half watched the 70's. I only know about stuff from the 70's through others, being born in '84. I did love the "I want a car that looks like the head of a duck and explodes on impact." E! also had this series called 101 Reasons the '90's Ruled, but I didn't watch it. Do we suppose Sailor Moon will be on here? I really don't know. It'd be cool if it was, but then, they already covered Power Rangers, and will *have* to cover Pokemon, so they might have reached their "limit" for foreign shows.[/quote]

Ahem, one episode per year, two for the 80s years. 10 eps per year would be a little much.

And they're only up to 1994, so they probably haven't gotten the opportunity to do Sailor Moon yet. that might have to make ILT9 Strikes Back.

Yeah, I miss Crystal Pepsi. I hope it becomes the official drink of Crystal Tokyo. ^_^

Oh, only 10 episodes. But's that not enough to cover all the coolness of the era :pouts:

Crystal Pepsi? Sounds familiar. I'm guessing it wasn't popular ^_^; kind of like Pepsi blue (although I really liked Pepsi Blue before I gave up carbonated drinks completely).

I don't think Sailor Moon will show up. Quite frankly, it really wasn't popular enough. If anything, it might be mentioned in the later years, but only as an afterthought. The only anime that are going to get coverage are Pokemon and DBZ. Bwahahaha... I get to watch Hal Sparks make weird facial expressions that look like he's having sex while he throws out mean comments about how Goku and Vegeta had to have had sex together. w00t

Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon because it's got those boom anime babes that make me think the wrong thing.

...what? Someone had to say it at some point or other! It's OK, I got it *thwaps self on the head with a large trout*

Yeah I highly doubted Sailor Moon was gonna get a mention...

The I Love the 90s show makes me realized sooo many things happened in that decade, and within each year. It didn't seem that way when I was living it.

I liked their bit on Power Rangers. I heard they also covered Mortal Kombat but I missed it. The Lorena Bobbit, Snow, and Ace of Base coverage had some funny comments too. I could've sworn Ace of Base was earlier than '94 though... I'm sure they'll mention the whole Tamogotchi/digital pet craze.

Keep in mind that Vh1 doesn't always do things completely in order. They didn't cover My Little Ponies until 1984 Strikes Back, and the first ponies came out in late'82, early '83. The way I figure it, they factor in popularity also. So if something comes out in a certain year, but isn't at the height of popularity/isn't well known until later, they'll mention it later. So, technically, Sailor Moon *could* get a brief mention later. Maybe.
