i've just heard (and i prey it isn't true) that warner bros. had actually been considering making gof 2 different movies, releasing them months apart, but the director said he would just trim off most of the subplot stuff to make the movie short. my question is: WHY? why the hell do the movies have to be so damn short anyway?! there are plenty of long movies, what's the big deal? i swear, if this one is as screwed up as the third one was, i'm not going paying to see them anymore.

Yes, there are plenty of long movies. However, two or three hours is the usual long movie. If GoF was going to be one movie, and nothing was cut out.... that's easily six or seven hours. Even with an intermission, I couldn't go see that.

-Ron and Hermione will get together, and so will Harry/Ginny or Harry/Luna. I absolutely, 100% despise the Harry/Hermione pairing.
1) I love your first idea (the one in spoilers). That would actually be really cool to see..and it makes wonderful sense.

2) I despise the Harry/Hermione story, but I also despise the Harry/Ginny pairing. She had a crush on him, and that's it. She's with a completely different guy in the 5th book. Same with Luna. He felt sorry for her briefly, and that's it. I saw absolutely nothing else between them. Honestly, I doubt Harry will even get with ANYONE. I would prefer it that way, too.

1) Thanks ^^

2) I wouldn't mind having Harry with nobody, but for some reason I like the Harry/Ginny pairing. I still can kind of see some sort of connection between them (after the Chamber of Secrets thing.) Same with Harry and Luna, only with the loss of close family members. But yeah, as I just said, Harry/Nobody's just fine with me.

Darn, that's my father's 50th birthday, and I promised him I'd go visit him in Florida.

He's going to be very disappointed.

*squeal like a rabid fangirl* I already cannot wait. I was so expecting that the book would have to be delayed because of Rowlings baby that's on the way. Seems like she's not going to let anything get in the way of finishing the series.

Yay! That'll be my reward for getting through my exams. ^-^ No one will see me that summer... ;)

I did read that JK Rowling will be killing off another character in the new book. I hope it's not Lupin, or Ron, they are my two favourite surviving characters. I'm still sad about in book 5 when
Sirius died, and he didn't even get a decent death! waah! *sulks*
A bit off-topic, but I don't really mind if they cut bits of the story for the plot. I always think of the films are just a way to see your favourite bits acted out. For example, I don't think I would have followed the plot of Azkaban unless I'd read the book.

I saw the third Harry Potter movie today, and you can count me among the people who didn't like it. The more I see of the movies, the less I like them. There's always too much left out of them, IMO. For instance, an explanation of just who Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs are would have been nice. Or why Harry saw a deer across the lake. Hell, his Patronus looking like a deer like it was supposed to when he used it would have been grand. I was extremely disappointed with the entire thing. I love the actors in the movie, and I love the script, but there's just too much to condense it into a movie. I'm happy I didn't see this one in theaters, and I won't go see the rest of them there either. I'll just stick with the books.

Oh, man, this is funny. Some guy recorded his own audio version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone called Wizard People, Dear Reader. You go here and download the mp3 over torrent or send away for a CD. Then you watch the movie on mute and listen to this. It's not all gold, but some of it is way funny. The reader sounds a little like Kirk Douglas. I laughed my head off at parts, and from now on Ron will forever be called by me Ronnie the Bear.

One word of warning, the language in the audio drives it up to PG-13, I'd say.

Well, I've just finished Half-Blood Prince (yes I know it's not out yet; but I am not entirely without some little magic of my own) and I think it was easily the best of the six thus far. More information and plot advancement than any of the first five. And while there is still awful evil and bad things happening, there is also a lot of good. Specifically:
Harry as Quiddich captain and general Big Man on Campus, not to mention a more increased scholastic aptitude.

The Dursleys being put in their place by Dumbledore.

Lots of snogging.

Dumbledore actually answering most of Harry's questions.

Several of my predictions being right or half right.
Whew, only one more to go to wrap it all up.

Just because it's not available in America doesn't mean it's not available elsewhere. I *think* it was released already in London long before now. All it will take is for him to order it from overseas or someone who already had the book and transfer the contents to, like, adobe reader. That way you can just download the book. :/ He may have found another way, but thats what I think.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

It comes out July 16th for London too. Maybe he has a friend who works at a bookstore.
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. I was very dissapointed when my Mother decided to NOT go pick up my copy at midnight. (Curse her for putting it under her name) I would be up reading it right now. Then possibly sleep some before heading to work. But alas. I must wait until tommorow night. *sobs*

I've read the Half Blood Prince ( 11th in line to hold it first in the line at the checkout to buy it at 12.01am ^^ )

I'm going to say it was the better book so far. As far as story goes it's not as dark as the last one but it does errr ummmm fade? shine? After reading this one I'm really lookg foraward for the next one.
