Saturday Night Live/ Sailor X's proposed future profession

Post by Sailor X » Fri Jul 09, 2004 1:55 am

I must have lost my damn mind. I'm just about through with Live From New York the SNL book filled with interviews. I now know too much. I'm thinking about trying to get on SNL when I get older. I mean, I idolize the show (I must, the read that 600+ page book), and I'm pretty sure of my acting abilities. What do ya'll think (of SNL and my aspirations)?
That avatar is a self portrait. Really. Really. No matter how much it looks like D'Angelo, that's me. .... Oh, just shut up.

"Man, I am like obsessed with this show...could anyone have made a worse tv program if they set out to? The best part is, it was my grandma's FAVORITE show. We put her in a home shortly after she made that comment."

That show is god. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have some of the BEST sketch comedy anywhere, and have had some REALLY good comedians on there. (AKA, Dana Carvy, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Chris Rock, Will Ferrel, Chris Parnell, Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, etc...) The show is one of the funniest things ever.

Good luck, you are going to have serious competition to get on that show.

I've always liked Mad TV better as they really push the envelope, but SNL has gotten better. I love Tina Fey (a hottie and brilliant, can't go wrong).

If that's your dream Sailor X, then go for it! I have a good friend who would like to be on SNL too, right now he does improv theatre in NYC, struggling right now but I guess that's the gauntlet you must go through before reaching mega-stardom and landing that 5 feature films deal.

You can do anything if you put your mind and soul behind it.

SNL is hilarious, but like DurgaRea, I like Mad TV more, even though my favorite cast member, Debra Wilson is gone...

Getting to SNL is possible. Getting anywhere is possible, except it will be extremely tough to get there.

But no matter what, never give up. You can achieve anything if you believe in yourself 8)
