o.o They re-released it, or is this a remake?
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I just read about it on IGN ... http://pocket.ign.com/articles/454/454824p1.html is the article.
Before reading that, I assumed it was just a straight port of Super Mario Bros. 3. However, it can use the e-Reader peripheral (with another GB Advance + link cable) to upload other stuff, including new levels that feature different power-ups (the cape from Super Mario World, and apparently even a boomerang like the Boomerang Bros. use).
It sounds pretty interesting ... considering it's dealing with probably the most popular non-RPG game for the NES, and one of the most popular games of all time for any system, period.

This is the best selling game of all time afaik. Most popular non-RPG NES game? No..it was THE most popular NES game!
I want it....and will get it. But for Christmas
Waiting is the price of getting it for free
In the meantime I'll be collecting them cards.
Plus I really don't agree with supporting the Mario Advance series. Quite frankly it's a ripoff as they could have just released Mario All-Stars from the beginning and then worked on new Mario's all this time.

More like the most popular game of all time, I believe it still holds the record for the most copies of a game sold. The number it sold escapes me right now, I'll look it up later and post it here though.

SMB3 holds the world record with 15 million copies sold world-wide. SMB actually has sold 40 million, but a huge majority of those were bundled with the NES, so it doesn't count.

I *love* SMB 3. I used to play the nintendo version all the time. Then they Released "SuperMario All-stars" on SNES that contained the original 3 mario brothers. Played that to death too.

I loved SMB3 as well, but SMB2 was always my favorite.
Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I love SMB3, simply because I think it was more fun than SMB and SMB2 (I've beaten SMB 100 times and I quit SMB2 after stupidly saving (on emulator) on this one level where I'm completely stuck -_-) and I watched my bro play for years so I've practically memorized all the hidden goodies ^^
::cries:: Its been forver!! And this place has changed... oh how I''ve missed it all :

I got Series 1&2 today of the e-card sets. Very nice stuff!
I beat all 10 of them newfangled levels but not perfectly just yet. They really make this game go beyond just Mario 3.
What more new item cards could they make? New new I mean.. Mario World really didn't have anything new past the Cape. hm..Maybe they could add in FLUDD??
Oooo but hey! They could make a E-Switch that activates Yoshi in all levels!
I eagerly await Series 3&4! For more new levels and stuffs!

This game is definetly on my xmas list, it was the first game in my life that I got the day it came out (since it was so close to my birthday) and I loved it to no end. I was on the fence initially with this release of the game since earilier this summer I had seen screenshots with two of them being e-reader levels, though I didn't know that at the time so I was against getting it until I found out that they were only special levels and not remakes of original levels. I almost picked it up on Saturday but stopped myself to try to control my funds better this xmas season, I've already planned my me-gifs between now and xmas (DDR Ultramix for Xbox Live, .hack//SIGN DVD5 LE, half a laptop (pay friend other half after xmas), and mabye a couple used games). Now I really can't wait to play this game and relive all those memories from the past.
Yep, that it was. Even though I have both games, I'd really like to get my hands on that rare cart.J Anderson wrote:There's also the much rarer SMB All-Stars + Super Mario World SNES cartridge. I believe it was a system pack-in late in the system's life.

The game kicks. It has a lot of old-school, nostalgia-like goodness, and the added effects of the e-Reader cards are too fun not to indulge. Granted, adding some of the weapons might make the game a little cheap/easy, but there's still plenty of challenge factor for someone like me, who always found the NES games so hard to beat ><.

I still have the NES version...my sister and I would fight over who'd get to play as Mario A LOT!
You see, a particular Game Genie code we both liked was one where Mario could re-use items, but Luigi couldn't. So needless to say, whoever was Mario had the advantage.
These fights would sometimes escalate to the point where Mom would tell us to calm down and play, or get kicked off the NES. At that point I usually did one of two things:
A. Admit defeat and play as Luigi
B. Suggest a game we both could agree on (Zelda was usually the game we picked)
