ZSNES games.

Video games and anime sometimes tie in with each other, plus video games kick ass. =P Discuss them here.

ZSNES games.

Post by Cardcaptor Takato » Mon Apr 26, 2004 9:12 am

I recently downloaded ZSNES to play Sailor Moon: Another Story and it's really been a lot of fun, but I'm also searching for other games to play with it. I really don't know where to begin searching, so if anyone knows a site where you can download ZSNES games, it would be much appreciated. I'm particulary looking for RPG and Adventure games and of course, the games should be in English as I don't know any Japanese games. It would also be helpful if anyone knew where I could find an English translation of the Magic Knight Rayearth game for ZSNES...

http://www.coolrom.com/ - A decent site to download SNES Roms.

Another thing would be to do a search on Google, for SNES ROMS.

I also use Kazaa Lite to download SNES roms.

Good luck finding some games!

If you catch me on Direct Connect, I've got close to 3 gigs of SNES roms shared. You can find me in various hubs of HAN (Halo Anime Network), usually MKBO and Ryalth Anime, and outside HAN I'm in the new PGSM Media Center Hub.

Rayearth and Seresu's Anime Dimention

This site has the engilsh translation of the Magic Knight Rayearth Snes game for download. ^-^ One you get passed the first page, click on the 'Magic Knight Rayearth Dimention' bar and select 'downloads.' It's near the bottom of the page. :)

I downloaded the emulator, and I have a question about it. Can you not save your games? Cause I save them, but then it doesn't have any files that I can load when I start back up.

Try using File - Save State and File - Load State. This will allow you to save the game in the current position, and when you do load state, it's as if you never left the game.

Thanks. That helps a lot. But, can everyone else save their BSSM: AS file? It keeps saying "Unable to Save" for me. Everything else works fine though, including Super Mario RPG (my all-time favourite video game).

The only other thing that I can think of is to see if maybe the file is set as read-only. To check this, right click on the game file (outside of ZNES) and then click on properties. At the bottom of the new window, it will say Read Only with a box before it. If the box is checked, uncheck it, and see if that will allow you to save. If not, well, I'm out of ideas.

A question I have about ZSNES. Is it possible for it to delete your saved game? I was going to play SM: AS and my saved file was gone! I thought my sister might've accidentally erased it, since she asked me how to play the game and was new to it and all, but she said she hadn't played it yet. So, either she's lying or ZSNES is being screwy.

It is possible, a save file saves into the folder where you load the game from, at least last version of ZSENS I used it did. You'd have to delete the save file or move the game to lose the save, unless you're playing off a CD, where a save file obviously won't write to. I'd go to http://www.zsnes.com/ for any other technical type questions since they'd probably be more help.

Some ROMs I recomend are Final Fantasy IV, the Japanese fan translated version and Final Fantasy VI, the Japanese fan translated version. You can't get the fan translated versions anywhere els,e and the script is hilarious as well as loyal to the original, with some references to William Shatner added in.

I didn't want to have to start a new thread for this, but I was wondering, where do I download the emulator to run the games from www.coolrom.com ?

On the left side of the screen, click on the link that says Emulators, which is under the Emulation section. Then, under console emulators, choose Super Nintendo. Under there, choose either ZSNES or SNES9x. I use ZSNES, but it's your choice.

*EDITED* I originally posted links to the emulators, but the site has an Anti-Leech plugin. You'll have to follow the instructions above. Sorry!

thanks. I noticed that right away, but Windows XP doesn't seem to support them. Any suggestions?

What version of ZSNES are you running, RoastedTwinkies? I've never had a problem getting it to run on WinXP. Maybe the file was corrupted?

I've had good luck getting emulators from Zophar's Domain in the past. You might try there if you're still having problems.

I downloaded ZSNES Win from www.emulatorworld.com. I couldn't get it to run, so I got rid of it. I'll definately try that link. Thanks for your help!

EDIT: I downloaded that emulator again and I'm still having problems. I can't seem to load any games. I have uploaded a screencaps to my website so you can get a better idea of what's going on:
