Favorite Final Fantasy Relationships
What's your favorite Final Fantasy relationship? It can be between boyfriend and girlfriend, brother and sister, anything!
My favorite would have to be Wakka and Lulu from Final Fantasy X. They're both so different. Wakka is a funny guy, and Lulu is mostly serious. I love them both.

Cloud and Tifa.
And I don't care if Square pairs up Cloud witrh Aerith. Just because they're canon doesn't mean I like that couple (especially when you consider that

Locke and Celes were a favorite of mine. Just because their relationship was so complicated. Terra and General Leo's was good too. They would have gotten married and had lots of Esper kids if uhh..........events didn't transpire the way they did ^^;;;;
I loved pretty much all the relationships in FF6. That game's character interaction has yet to be topped in my book (save maybe Xenogears).
-_- what, people can't love others after they're dead? Like she had control over that anyway. And from what I know, Tifa's more of a damsel in distress than Aerith. Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I agree... Tifa IS more of a damsel in distress than Aeris. Aeris has way more spunk. Shows that you can't judge the character's personalities by how they're dressed. I noticed that normally the stronger minded females are the ones who look less conservative.
And my favorite couple is Squall and Rinoa. Rinoa's love for Squall saved him mentally, and helped him grow. And he would be by her side no matter what. The only thing that bothered me was it should've taken them a shorter time to get together.

My number one favorite FF couple has got to be Squall and Rinoa. I loved FFVIII all the way through, and I loved the interactions between these two.
I like Wakka and Lulu, too. I think they work well because they play off each others' strengths and weaknesses really well. She tones him down, and he can get her to lighten up. Balance is good.
And even though I wanted to smack both of them around at various points in FFX, I absolutely love Yuna and Tidus.
But Aerith was dead. There was nothing Cloud could do about it. Plus, the only reason she even liked Cloud was because he reminded her of Zack, her previous love. And I can only recall one or two times Tifa was kidnapped, in the very beginning of the game. At least she didn't ask Cloud to protect her all the time like Aerith did (who practically demanded him to protect her when they first met..bleh) -_- I always remember the scene in disc 2 where she helps Cloud regain all his memories, and get a happy feeling from it. Tifa helps others as well as others help her. Can't recall Aerith ever do something like that, aside from the end of disc 1.
Tiff wrote:
-_- what, people can't love others after they're dead? Eh I recall Aeris asking Cloud to be her bodyguard initially. But she also said she could take care of herself. Yet Cloud was always over protective with her from the beginning. More so than Tifa. And I don't want to spoil anything so...
Before Aeris died, Cloud seemed to be more interested in her than Tifa. However I do agree that Aeris loved Cloud mostly because he reminded her of Zack. So in the end Tifa and Cloud probably would be the better couple. She loved Cloud for who he really was, although she did admit that she didn't know him as well as she thought. And Cloud did have feelings for Tifa in return... She's the reason he tried out for SOLDIER. And you could say they ended up together. See end of Disk 2.
One more thing Aeris doesn't only help at the end of Disk 1.... What about the whole Temple of Ancients thing? She also took care of Marlene, and gave herself up to Shinra for Marlene's safety. And there was also the part when Barret didn't want anyone to get involved with his problems, but she wanted to help him out like everyone else. She said something like "That's Cloud's line! 'I don't want anyone involved or in danger. Blah blah blah!' "
(Aeris is my favorite FF7 character, and second favorite FF character overall. So I felt the need to add my two cents)

There are so many wonderful relationships in the Final Fantasy series I love. I've played every Final Fantasy game and love them all and all of the relationships. I'm choosing Squall and Rinoa because they remind me of Mamoru and Usagi, my favorite couple.

[mod] Sailor Moon, have you ever listened to a single word that the mods have told you? Everything we've ever reprimanded you for is contained in that one post. In a four-sentence post, you managed to repeat yourself using NEAR TO THE SAME words, and you brought up Usagi and Mamoru for no reason. If Squall and Rinoa remind you of Usagi and Mamoru, say why. Don't just drop the names and leave it at that. [/mod]Sailor Moon wrote:There are so many wonderful relationships in the Final Fantasy series I love. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! To answer a few questions, I do carefully read all the posts the moderators have written that I see. I had written up the reasons and resemblances, but if I posted it, you might think that my post was long, so I decided to cut out the list of the resemblances and reasons. I edited my post though, if you want me to include the reasons I can.

AnimeGuru has told you over and over to please provide more than a few words in yourp osts. WHY do you like Squall and Rinoa? PLEASE elaborate. We are getting tired of having to tell you to do so.

Cloud x Tifa is my favorite pairing. They've been together longer, so they know what makes the other tick, what the other likes, etc. Also, even though it has nothing to do with it, they suffer from the Look-Like-a-Couple Syndrome.
I also like Cloud x Aeris, but only from Aeris' standpoint; I could never imagine Cloud falling for Aeris like that. And not to start a flamewar, but I don't really agree with anyone about Tifa OR Aeris being a damsel in distress. Aeris may have gotten kidnapped more often than Tifa, but she wasn't afraid to stand up to her own destiny. And Tifa is most DEFINITELY not a D.I.D., because she can take care of herself and be physically and mentally supportive of Cloud.

Zidane and Dagger from FFIX. I don't really know why. Maybe it's that I like Zidane's personality the best out of all of the main FF characters. Or maybe I like the princess getting the thief. Or I like how they weren't really a couple till far into the second half of the game. I think they balance each other out well.

Locke and Celes is one of my favorites. Talk about a destiny couple there. Cecil and Rosa is one of the best written couples in the series. they were already together when the game started so none of the cliche love at first sight stuff, and they even had a few lovers arguments which is more them most of the relationships in the series.
The ones I dont like are Squall and Rinoa and Cloud and Aeris.
Cloud and Aeris just doesnt make any sense in the story aside from just going total disney cliche. Matter of fact the only thing about Aeris that isnt an over done cliche is the fact that
she dies
Squall and Rinoa is potentially a good relationship but it's way to rushed in the story. Rinoa had just lost a boyfriend and Squall had reinforced steel emotional barriers up. Both of these needed to be worked through and they werent. These problems were just suddenly gone in disk 3. It just needed a little more development then it got. I guess the game makers didnt feel there was enough time in the game.
