Heavy Cat's New Sailor Moon Game Development

Post by Miyamoto » Thu Mar 04, 2004 8:55 am

http://heavycatweb.com/gemini/gemini2.html

The above URL is about the proposed and in development new SM game that's going to be released for the next generation consoles and/or PC. Are you guys excited about it? This will be the first SM console game (as far as I know) since 1996 when an SM fighter was released on the Playstation 1 (that's a great game even today, at least to me). Comments?

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Yeah exactly. I've been reading that there are demo movies showing off the game's graphics.... I wonder why they havent been released to the public...

What's the point of releasing demo graphics to the public if they don't have a publisher to publish the game. That'd just be mean to the public, because you'd be teasing them with something that might never get off the ground (and that's the stage this game is in right now).

It looks like all talk, no substance. According ot them, they've been at it for nearly two years, yet they have nothing to show for it. Besides, how they heck do they intend to get a publisher when they very likely don't even any kind of distirbution rights in the first place.

Plus -10 Karma for linking one certain vile, wretched site.

The game is being "produced" for the North American market.

And Miyamoto, there was a new PS1 game in 2001 called "Play-Time With Chibiusa" or something scary like that. It's not a fighter obviously, it's some sort of mini-game collection or "tell Chibiusa what to do" game a la the Pikachu game.

Yeah you're right... I forgot about that one. Heh. I guess it was that bad. I'd feel weird playing that one. I hope Heavy Cat's game doesn't turn out as bad as the DiC dub did for the anime...

I've been doing some reading between the lines... And despite the update a month ago, I think it's save to assume this is a dead project (if it had ever existed in the first place).

A) Am I alone in noticing there is absolutely no details what-so-ever revealed about the game? Nothing, nada, zilch. Most publishers almost always reveal some of their progress to wet the appetites of its would be fanbase. Showing nothing usually means... there is nothing to show.

B) Digging around, I've conluded this "project" has been around a little longer than they claim it is. My bet is that they've been at it for four years, not two as they claim. Four years, two years, regardless it's not a good sign to be working on something for that long and have nothing to show for it.

C) Most importantly, the main site's frontpage, http://www.heavycatweb.com/ , does not link this project at all. (In fact, two of the links at the top of the page are broken.) Looking at the front page, it rather appearent that this project isn't high on their priorities.

Meh. I'll be excited when they make a fighter game where you can use all the Senshi, including Tuxedo Mask, Chibi Chibi and the Starlights. That would be the one I want, and to have it be for the SNES, so there can be an SNES ROM and I can download it and play it on my emulator. Or just have it be a Sailor Moon computer game. The SailorStars puzzle game is okay, but just not as fun for me as the fighting game...

You guys're right... I really hope that they update soon (if they have anything worth updating)... I'd be playing my PS1 SM fighter more often, but my PSX broke and the only other way to play it would be to restart my computer back into my older OS (which isn't installed at the moment and I don't plan on installing it). It's also so scratched that even if my PSX were working right it wouldn't read it right (it's a bootleg). I've tried re-ripping it for reburning but it's so scratched that it won't rip... Oh well...

Yeah I bet you're right... They had to gather information on SM from fans.. -_- They weren't fans themselves... If they had been it would have helped ALOT! >< oh well... *flips off the HeavyCat bastards* If they were smart they'd sell their idea to [the] Japan[ese], where (as far as I know) SM eps are still being reran on Japanese TV networks etc... Anyone know for sure if it still is or not?
