Golden Sun Two: The Lost Age
People usually say sequals aren't as good as the original, so, if anyone has played GS and GSLA could you please tell me if GSLA is worth it?
Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....
Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

I enjoyed the Lost Age more than the original. I think Felix makes a better main character than Isaac, and Sheba was awesome! Plus, there were so many unique psynergies. You get more summons (Iris and Charon ownz!), and the weapons special powers were awesome! (Sol Dive is the coolest attack in the game!)

Sweet. I was considering purchasing this game sometime, but wasn't sure how it was compared to the first. It's definitely going on my Christmas list :)

I might buy this, but first I gotta know. Is it a sequel to the first game, hence you'd have to play the first one to understand this, or is it like Final Fantasy where it's a totally different game?

I can help a little there.Lucied wrote:I might buy this, but first I gotta know. Is it a sequel to the first game, hence you'd have to play the first one to understand this, or is it like Final Fantasy where it's a totally different game?
GS2 is the "continuation" of GS. I wouldn't say it would be TERRIBLY confusing, but the beginning has to do with it. I'll just list the ending roughly.
1. Fusion Dragon snuffs it.
2. Lighthouse splits open.
3. Someone (Methinks Sheba) falls
4. Felix jumps after her
Then I think GS2 continues from there.

The Golden Sun story didn't really end with the first game. You might be a little confused, but there's a very long explanation at the beginning of the game which goes through the events of the first game, so newbies can still enjoy it. However I would highly reccomend playing the first game too, just because it's so great.Lucied wrote:I might buy this, but first I gotta know. Do you think they MEANT for a sequal or did they decide to make one because of the ending?

Ok, 2 things...
1. Might want to go back and put spoiler space around your ending there. Some people on the board might not have beaten it yet.

AAAH!!!! I got that!!!!Starscream wrote: OUCH! People always know where to slap me and make it hurt[/double entendre]
GS:TLA might be a little confusing without beating the first one, but I'm not sure. See, there's a minor character from Golden Sun that comes into play right before the final boss. And I think they mention him in the prologue thing, but the character isn't someone you'd recognize without having seen him before. However, they might have said more in the prologue to GS:TLA. It's been so long since I played it.
The best part about playing GS first is the Djinni. If you start GS:TLA without transferring from GS, then you can't get all the Djinni. And the djinni kick ass! They increase your stats, as well as give you certain powers and summons. If you transfer data, you can get all 14 djinni of each element (earth, water, fire, and air making a total of 56 djinni), but if you don't, then I think you can only get 8-11 djinni of each type (it's one of those numbers, but I don't remember right of hand) (a total of 32-44 djinni). Plus, there's one psynergy that you can only get in GS:TLA if you transfer from GS. So, I'd recommend playing GS first.
