So, is it as good as the previous Final Fantasies?
Methinks that I'm going to give it a try.

"After all these years, you know it's not about control. It's about trying to do everything I can. And for you, it's about setting an example. Everyone looks up to you. They listen to you. If you tell them to fight, they'll fight. But they need to be inspired, and let's face it, 'Superman'...the last time you really inspired anyone... was when you were dead." -- Batman, to Superman, Infinite Crisis, issue 1

Well I'll just compare it to FFX, which I thought was better overall.
Storywise- FFX's was deeper. FFX-2 didn't concentrate on the story as much as it should have. Especially in the first two chapters.
Challenge- I found FFX-2 more difficult, which was a good thing.
Music- FFX wins this handsdown. I think most of X-2's music is horrible.
Characters- I definitely prefer Yuna's X-2 character to her FFX one. But overall FFX had more character development.
Battle system- I like FFX-2's better. It as good to have a semi fulltime system, where you could attack ast the same time, rather than the turbased kind most FF games have. I also prefer regular leveling up to the sphere grid in FFX. And the dress sphere idea is so... *_* I kinda missed the summons but the special dress spheres made up for that.
FFX-2 was also shorter compared to other FFs. New Game + somehwat makes up for it if you don't do everything the first time around.
FFX-2 doesn't really feel like an FF game but it's good in it's own right. You should give it a try.

I loved Final Fantasy X-2. True, it wasn't as deep as Final Fantasy X, but it was more lighthearted, which is always a good thing!
Plus, who doesn't like a game where the girls dress in sexy clothes and have the ability to transform like Sailor Moon in the middle of the fight?
I have no complaints.

I love Final Fantasy X-2. It rocks. I love how they use the same atmosphere as Final Fantasy X. It's so cool that there's a sequel to an FF game. All the other FF games rocked, FFX-2 is quite different due to the multiple endings. I replay it to see all the different endings. Since I beat all the Final Fantasy games, it's great that FFX-2 has multiple endings.

Rate Final Fantasy X-2
For those of you who have played Final Fantasy X-2, rate it, on a scale of 1 through 10. Don't forget to explain why.
I give it a 10. It's perfect. Just great. Perfect story, perfect acting, perfect music, perfect graphics. I sincerely believe it is the best Final Fantasy to date! Go Yunie!

So far, this game is a lot of fun.
One thing I wish they did, though, was have the dressphere you have equipped on your characters affect how they look outside of battle. Yuna is a black mage right now, and I would love if she looked like that (*_* I love the pointy hat) while wandering around in towns and stuff...

I love the battle system in this game - it really keeps you on your toes and forces you to make your decisions quicker than in other FF games. However, I HATE the non-linearity of it; I find myself doing these misisons, and wondering what in the world it has to do with Yuna's original goal. I guess I was jaded by FFX; the story there was a lot more serious, and I actually had some respect for the villains in that one.

Yeah, I agree about some of the non-linearity and stuff. And am I the only one who thinks of Team Rocket when I see the woman and two men appear? One of the FAQs at GameFAQs referred to them as "the Team Rocket of FFX-2", so I guess not.Tiff wrote:Yeah, I agree about some of the non-linearity and stuff. And am I the only one who thinks of Team Rocket when I see the woman and two men appear? (the annoying trio who steals spheres, too)
iirc, one of the complaints about FFX was that it was too linear (which it was), so they probably tried to remedy that...
