I'm surprised that there's so much information on this game already, as it hasn't been released yet (although, this Is Wikipedia we're talking about, so there's bound to be a couple of faux facts in there somewhere). Is anyone else as excited as I am?! I hope this is a better game than the previous DDR SuperNOVA, as I was a little disappointed with the game's default songlist (but then I played DDR Extreme US last night, and realized how superior SuperNOVA is to Extreme US xD).


[spoiler]Although, I'm a bit disappointed that Sakura's Heavy chart became a 9 footer, instead of a 10. The Oni chart got the 10 rating this time. Kind of a stupid change, as the charts weren't swapped out, and the Heavy chart is clearly harder than the Oni chart. But they fixed up the BPM (20~320 instead of the previous 300), so that's at least something.[/spoiler]

Super Nova was very idssapointing. None of the songs are all dance songs...There taking the rave ovut of DDR!

I have Extreme 2. Honestly, that rules super Nova to me. (Sakura is a 10 footer on mine by the way and has challenge. I love Sakura <3) And my friend likes mine better because its all around set up. better. There are no stages or over all grades. You play for fun. You unlock songs in dance master mode (Which is funner)

I hope Super Nova 2 is more like my version of ddr ^^;

Maybe it'll be a situation like with Extreme and Extreme 2, like how Extreme reeks of suckyness, and how Extreme 2 rules. (These are my opinions, of course).

DDR Wii, huh? Any news if there might be a DDR for the PS3? I've always thought DDR was strictly a PS/Xbox game.

Sakura's feet rating has been changed, again. Heavy is only a 9, with Oni being an 8. I think this is a more appropriate rating, as the Oni steps obviously don't merit 10 feet, regardless if it's a fast song or not.

I like the songs on there that I've played from the other versions, and can't really judge the others until I play them. I'm sure they'll pull something cool out of their hat for the final version. I hate how they changed Sakura's foot ratings though. While I don't disagree with the changed themselves as 10/9 and 9/8 can be properly debated, I hate how in select home versions they change the rating from what it's been listed in multiple versions. IMO, whatever that's listed in the first version a song appears should stick. Sakura has been on about 5 versions of DDR now, why change after it's been established for so long?

I'm curious now about what DDR Disney Channel will bring this October. I see it listed in our reserve lists, but I've been too lazy to look up info on it lately.

I'm not sure if I agree, though. Sakura is such an easy song, why should it a 10? Although like you said, it'd make sense to keep the rating the same, if it's been a 10 on 5 different games. Which leads me to believe, either Konami just isn't being careful about how they rate their songs, or they just don't care.

My college has a DDR Extreme machine that a number of my friends and I play. I really love to play on it, as I get a great workout for about $.50 a play! I love most of the songs on it, even if I can't quite do them on Standard mode yet.

I've played the original North America DDR Supernova, and was extremely disappointed. It only had a few of my favorite songs on it, plus I wonder if the machine may have had heavy usage prior to my playing it. It really didn't respond as well as I had hoped it would. (Imagine stepping on a pad, only to not have it react and causing you to miss that arrow. Frustrating as hell. )

Well as it turns out, the United States will not get DDR SuperNOVA 2 until 2008, the precise date hasn't been decided yet. SuperNOVA 2 has already been released in Japan, of course.

Well, apparently DDR SuperNOVA 2's PS2 version was released...two days ago. o_O Now that, I had no idea about... I wasn't expecting the console version to come before the arcade version.

So did anyone plan ahead and buy it? Or were you totally as lost about it as I was?

Two days ago? o.o I dunno who had it two days ago, but I find it very hard to believe. Virtually no games are released on Mondays, and Konami is one of the companies notorious for shipping on Tuesday rather than on Monday so the game arrives in stores on Tuesdays. Adding on that I see some people on the net are still waiting for the game to arrive in various stores. With that said, the game officially came out today, and I've played some. I like the variety of songs on there. Some do stick out like a sore thumb, but other are great fits, made even greater with original videos. Playing Take on Me with the video is made of win. XD

Unlocking songs is less of a hassle than the two games prior, though can still be a bit of a pain. The mission mode is more linear which gives access to the songs to be bought in the shop more quickly than previous incarnations. Sure it means less secrets, but I doubt many people will care. It still works well for people getting to know the game and means slightly less work for seasoned veterans. There appears to be separate scoring for doubles play in the mode, so I'm looking forward to looking deeper into that.

Seems like a solid mix so far. Can't wait until I really get digging through.

DDR Hottest Party for the Wii also came in today. I did get a chance to play it actually, a customer was having problems with a universal dance pad with the game, long story short we busted a used Wii out and opened up my copy of the game for some testing. Since it was dead, me and my boss went through some songs. Pretty nice variety here too, though it doesn't seem like any songs from the arcade or previous mixes are on it. But until I get it home to play, I don't really know that for a fact and can't give a good opinion on the game.

As of after midnight, I considered it to be the 27th, which is technically is... SuperNOVA 2 was released on the 25th, which was indeed a Tuesday. Sorry for the confusion. ^^;

Hopefully I can get this game around Christmas time... Then I'll be able to review it in it's entirety. It already sounds like a lot of fun XD
