Legend of Zelda: Collecters Edition

I actually think the plot of Majora's Mask was just as good if not better than Ocarina of Time's. It definitely departs from traditional Zelda storytelling, so you may feel a bit out of sorts at first. However, I think this game is one of the best, as it actually explores character's emotions and the Skull Kid isn't just some random evil dude. He has his reasons, he's been neglected. Saving the game isn't really difficult once you learn the Song of Soaring (which if I recall, is pretty early in the game). You just have to fly to warp and save. It takes a few seconds longer, but nothing extreme.

Got it yesterday. I cannot wait to get Oni Link... I'm going to beat Majora's Mask without turning into Oni Link first though... I want a challenge.DistantMemory wrote:Heheh! ^^ The Couple's Mask is my favorite side quest. It will be very well worth it in the end:

Just killed Majora's Wrath... without using Oni Link *except getting rid of the 4 guardian masks* didn't want to waste any arrows.

I've pulled out Majora's Mask and started playing it again after so long. Urgh, I hate that stupid dog that always knocks you silly when you're in your Deku Scrub body. >< I just want to slash that thing with my sword. It's so annoying. At least I got past the first 3 days (I'm re-playing the game from the beginning, even though I was a bit further in the game last I played it). I haven't played video games as much as I used to, so my video game skills are a bit rusty. This is going to make the dungeons really fun. Has anyone else noticed a trend in the Zelda games? In most cases, you can usually defeat a boss in a dungeon by using the special weapon that you found in that dungeon. My apoligizes for going off-topic here.

Of course you can. That's the main purpose for getting that special weapon. Have you ever noticed that several times, you'll get a new weapon and never use it again after beating the boss? (i.e. OoT, the Megaton Hammer. Used to beat the boss. Used very seldom throughout rest of game, and typically only to optionally break a boulder.)Cardcaptor Takato wrote:I've pulled out Majora's Mask and started playing it again after so long. Mainly OoT. Majora's Mask, you never get a special weapon without using it for other things besides bosses/other things. One thing in MM, is that for 3 of the bosses, you need to be using a mask. Odolwa is plain pathetic, even without using Oni Link *hell, two jump slashes as Oni Link, he's dead* and Majora's Mask. Majora's Wrath is a pain in the ass though... not damage-wise, but annoying wise. I swear... that guy kept hitting me for 30 seconds straight... ugh...ParaKiss_Groupie wrote:Of course you can. In Wind Waker, whenever you get a dungeon Item, it is always used on the boss. the Skull Hammer is practiclly useless after Forsaken Fortress #2. The Mirrior shield isn't used for much, and you don't use the Hookshot much at all.
In most Zelda games, you only use an item for only a dungeon. True.

My Collector's Edition came in the mail last week. And I love it! I'm playing through in order. I'm still on the first Zelda game. It's a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It's so addicting. I just can't stop playing it. Even with the awful synthesizer music and bad control. The game itself more than makes up for everything.

That might be why. I haven't tried out the other three yet. Of course, it could just be that I'm not used to only getting to walk in 4 directions, too.J Anderson wrote:I'm not sure what happened to the controls in the first, unless it just hates the Gamecube controller. The other 3 play fine.

That could be it, too. Are you using the analogue stick? I tend to use the control pad, and that works a lot better for me.ParaKiss_Groupie wrote:Of course, it could just be that I'm not used to only getting to walk in 4 directions, too.
By the way, are there any Pieces of Heart in the first Zelda game?

No, there are 5 other Heart Containers out in the open. You need to find all 5 to get all 16 hearts. which means without finding at least one, you can't get the Magical Sword. ^_^DistantMemory wrote:That could be it, too. Are you using the analogue stick? I think that while the 2 N64 titles are easy to convert over to the Gamecube, the 2 NES titles are just direct ROM dumps run through a sort of emulator frontend.
I basically save all those extra lives until I'm ready for the last castle. If I don't beat the game, don't save so they'll still be there.

be lucky they let you continue from the start of the Grand Palace when you die. When you die in all other dungeons, you're right back at the North Palace.
Although, I do find it pretty cruel how your death toll counts up when you save and quit. If you beat that game with a 000 life count, you'd probably be worshipped as a god by some of those, er, ultra-uber obsessed game maniacs that go extremely overboard.
