E3 2006

Already at E3, we've had a lot confirmed for the Revoultion/Wii.

Release date will be in Q4. near gaurenteed, or pretty obvious. *shrugs*

Online Super Smash Bros.
LoZ: Twilight Princess
A new Fire Emblem *SQUEEEE*
Sonic: WildFire
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
A new Super Monkey Ball
Mobile Suit Gundam
Mario Game.

LoZ Twlight will be for both GCN and Revolution, sooo... cool. ^_^ As for other things I know of, Nintendo has released the fact there's going to be a 'shell' kind of controller, like the GCN one I think for the Revolution, so not every game is controlled by remote.

I know Xbox 360, they've released stuff about a Halo 3 coming out. PS3 has given out information about changing their controller, which has come to speculaiton about taking Nintendo's idea for the interactive, I think... it was on the poll on GFaqs, and the site, not forums, are fairly reliable.

And let's not forget,

Sony's announcement of its controller, which has "tilt" sensitivity!

Can we say "BLATANT RIP OFF"???

Also, Sony's PS3's price was announced at $499 and $599 depending on how big you want your hard drive. Frankly, a price this high I think alienates the more casual gamer....

I definately wont be picking up a PS3 now.........at least no where close to launch. Maybe after FFXIII but that's it....

This Sony we're speaking of. They'll call the PS3 the best thing since indoor plumbing and people will go plunk down the cash for it. At least scary fanboys will. I might get one but it will be way after launch maybe a year or so.

The PS3's price is high, but your getting a lot of stuff for it. I'm just glad they decided to keep their classic controller design insted of the baterang they had showed last year. I'll probably save up for this system over the summer, but I'll wait a few months before I buy just so all of the bugs can be discovered and fixed.

The Xbox360 looks like its going to put up quite a fight, they've licensed some good games, and the system looks much better then the orginal Xbox. The controler is also way more ergonomic then the old X-box's "Pancake." I would probably try to get this system too, but I have a realy bad feeling about Microsoft, something about them and games just rubs me the wrong way.

Last, the Wii, Nintendo's new system. From what I can tell Nintendo has learnd the lessons of the last two gen's, and is coming back in force. A new controller that people tell me is very intuitve and fun, backward compatiblity with all previous Nintendo games (but most of those you have to download for a price), the cost of the console will be about $99 far undercutting the others, and finaly using a media standard, DVD, for their content. The only things I don't like about this system are: 1) The name, revolution was much cooler, and 2) Lack of titles for older gamers (although this may change later). I might just get this one, I have a great feeling about Nintendo this gen, all they need is a plethora of thrid-party support and they'll defanatly take the lead.

Next-gen forecast:

1.Sony PS3 (Blu-Ray straight out of the box, built in harddrive, XDR memory, and all the hype about Cell and RSX, in addition to coming from a strong postion will help sell this thing.)

2. Nintendo Wii (very close second, may pull in for a tie or even take the lead. Nintendo's comming back, bitch!)

3. Microsoft X-box360 (It has a first strike advatage, but not many impressive launch titles. Power Supply problems, and the fact that their HD-DVD drive will be an add on [the market dosen't seem to like those kind of peripherals; see Sega CD and 32X] may cause this console to fall to the bottom unless it signs some exclusive deals for must have games.)

....The official price of the Wii has not been released, and I think $99 is actually WAY too low of an estimate. A more accurate represenation would be $199, or possibly $149. However, I would be surprised if the launch price was over $200.

In other words, you could buy 3+ Wiis for the price of one PS3.

Woops, sorry I heard somewhere that the Wii would be $99. I guess it was just a rumor, but I still think that the price will probably be much lower then the others because its not going to use super-fancy-new tec. I guess $149 is probably more likely.

Wow I thought it was suposed to be Nintendo characters only.

Well now I guess Snake is going to do some major PWNGE. Link has a sword, Snake has a SOCOM pistol. Mario can jump on your head, Snake can snap your neck, Donkey Kong can smash your face in, Snake can shoot you in the face with a STINGER missile.

However he might be weak against Kirby, the soft body will probably just absorb bullets and without a neck to snap Snake would be screwed. Although I would like to see what Kirby looks like when he absorbs Snake...Solid Kirby, awesome.

In spite of the price I'll definitely be getting a PS3 since the Playstations usually have the most games that I'm interested in (I mostly like RPGs) and also for some of the games that have been announced such as Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4. I'll probably wait for its price to go down somewhat before I buy it but I do know I will be getting one eventually.

I'm not entirely decided yet if I'll get an XBox 360 or Wii since I only have the money to get one system. I'll have to wait and see what games come out for them. The only game out now for the XBox360 that I'm really interested in is Condemned: Criminal Origins and I can just get that for the PC.

After careful review of the E3 press conferences, I have decided to get the Wii when it comes out, it just looks like its going to have realy fun games for a realy cheap price ($199 if Nintendo keeps up its tradition).

I've also decided to get the PS3 when the first price cut hits. That way I can play MGS4 which looks totaly bitchen: Raiden...cutting up mecha...with katana....with his feet (best scene ever).

LOL, personally, if they don't get the price under 300, i'm not even CONSIDERING buying one. All under 300 does for me is make me CONSIDER getting one. A 250 price tag would probably convince me to purchase one, and a under 200 would sell me 100%.

Looks like I'm getting a Wii.....
