Fire Embelm Series

Who else has played this? I am a fanboy now, I own 3 of the games, including one in japanese, have played ROMS of two also. need to get the other 4 from my uncle... he finds ROMS for me.

It's a REALLY good series, and is very challenging at times. and it's very different from almost every toher Strategy RPG out there... units are not expendable, and weapons break.

I have the first Fire Emblem game (in the US, the GBA version).

I played halfway through it once and for some reason got bored and recently I've been playing agian (but again, got bored, but I got a lot farther this time).

I like the series, it's fun, but the whole expendable character thing is what gets me. When my characters die, it KILLS me. I can't keep going, I have to restart the chapter. Sometimes, i end up replaying a chapter 3, 4, 5, even 6 times before I finally win. It wouldn't be so bad if you could save mid chapter and keep going back to that save, but you can't.......=\

I still like the series though. I eventually plan on picking up the other GBA title and the Gamecube title.

That's one of the challenges I like... it takes a bit, but you cna get to the point where very rarely your characters die. Bob- if you want a challenge, order Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi for GBA on play-asia.com, or download the Thracia 776 ROM for SNES. those games are HARD...

*Never lets characters die* I know how you feel. it's how i was in the beginning- and NEVER USE THE PROMOTED PALADINS YOUG ET AT THE START OF THE GAME. Jeigans are evil. one thing I like is the stories are VERY deep and dark.

I also like the stories.

My problem is, I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to games like this. I have to get EVERY character and EVERY item and do EVERYTHING perfectly..........which unfortunately ruins some of the fun in it. Maybe next time I get a Fire Emblem game I'll just buy a strategy guide with it =P
