Video games and anime sometimes tie in with each other, plus video games kick ass. =P Discuss them here.

Speed Runs

Post by yoshmaster5 » Sat Aug 06, 2005 10:13 pm

Anyone else know what they are?

In short- a speed run is a run-through of a game as fast as humanly possible... using as many tricks, shortcuts, and strategies to go through the game at insane speeds. Even turn strategy games can be run...

I've been watching them... and my favorites so far have been the Legend of Zelda ones, and the RPG's. the newest one I've downloaded has been Mike 'TSA' Damini doing Ocarina of time, one segment, in 4 hours and 57 minutes.

.....there's a guy there that beat Castlevania 64 in an hour and a half...with Reinhardt!?

0_0 that's amazing. My best time is two and a half hours with Carrie. Reinhardt's impossible to play with.

Plus someone beat American McGee's Alice in under an hour

I worship these people and there l33tness *bows*

This is a neat site. Is there a section on this page that lists them according to time?
Peachvampiress has an account on DeviantArt. Insanity Within.
And a Myspace account for her clothing designs.

Some of the games, there are more than one run. Mainly, metroid ones. But... I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I haven't watched the castlevania one yet... *starts watching TSA's run*

My favourite site for speed runs is http://bisqwit.iki.fi/nesvideos/ . Don't be fooled by the link - it's got videos from multiple systems - mostly older systems.

There's also http://home.comcast.net/~arcthelad/ ... they say the site has been "obsoleted", but it still has some links that the first site doesn't seem to have.

I like the site that's been mentioned here ... I've been to it before for specific games, but I never went through the entire list. My friend has American McGee's Alice, but I've never seen it, so I'll check that one out.

This reminds me.

Has anyone actually gotten the Excalibur 2 in FFIX? I heard you have to get to the altar in Memoria in like 3 hours to get it, and I'm not sure if that's even possible.
