I did beat it on my first try, but dear god, Puppet Ganon from LOZ: Wind Waker was extremely hard.

All I can think of at the moment is Indalecio without the "limiter" in Star Ocean 2.... I never beat him without getting lucky and doing the instant kill with the Algol shield. (and that's kinda cheating to me :P )

I find this game on the Universe or Galaxy difficulty levels is hard as hell too.

The only game I can think of that was really challenging is Alundra. I swear some of those puzzles can kill you >.< It's the only game I know that had me yelling at nearly all the characters {e.g. "You stupid elf-boy!!! Why do you need to solve all these stupid puzzles for a pair of shoes that make you jump 2 inches higher that you normally can jump to continue the game!!" and "Where is Meia?! (Alundra's rival) She's always around to criticize me, but when I have to go do something hard (like the bosses) she's never around!" and "Why are you blaming me for your daughter's death you old woman! She's the one told me "Noo.. don't enter my dream, enter my lover's dream so I can see him one last time" >.<#."}
::cries:: Its been forver!! And this place has changed... oh how I''ve missed it all ::hugs::

The following are challenges I actually did.

1. On the game Banjo-Tooie for N64, in a level called Cuckoo Cloud Land, I had to race this damn canary by tapping buttons at an insane speed that nearly cracked by thumb off in order to get a Jiggy. As if that wasn't bad enough, I had to race the bitch again to get a Cheato Page, and this time it was even harder.
2. Getting every emblem on Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. God damn, not only were a ton of the emblems hard, but getting them on A rank was even harder.
3. The very first Mario Party game. Play any one of those mini-games where you have to rotate the control stick and you'll see what I mean.
4. In any game with a limited amount of space for items (Earthbound, .hack, etc.), having to decide which items, or more importantly equipment, to keep and which to throw away.

The following are challenges I haven't gotten around to yet, but I've heard about them and they seem hard.

1. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, you have to get some trophies by getting every score bonus there is at least once. One of these bonuses I hear you need to get is not getting a single percent of damage throughout an entire classic, adventure, or all-star game. That sounds just plain insane.
2. Toppling over 100 Thwomps in the Domination mini-game on Mario Party 4 to get one of the special prizes.

- Any NES game staring Mario or Link. Super Mario Bros. 1-3 didn't have saves, so it took me forever to beat them without a Game Genie. And LoZ was - and is - hard as hell. LoZ >>> all others in terms of difficulty. For me.

- Any game where you have to collect stuff. Wind Waker, Pokemon, SSBM, Kirby's Air Ride...those are TRUE challenges

- Metroid Prime: I CAN'T BEAT THE LAST BOSS NO MATTER WHAT I DO! AAAURGHLE! *explodes yet again*

If you really want challenging parts on games...

1. Parts of worlds 5, 7, and 8 on SMB3
2. Tubular on SMW
3. any part of Super Ghouls and Ghosts
4. making your Sims follow your commands (PS2 version)
5. International-A and Super licenses on Gran Turismo 2 and 3. Alternately, the 10th International B test in GT2.
6. The end of Sailor Moon: Another Story (yeah right)
7. Victory Road in Pokemon Red/Blue
8. World 3-3 in Donkey Kong Land (luckily they
put a secret exit 10 seconds into the level
]

Really? I thought Hashmalum and Altima were pathetically easy. The only hard battle in FFT for me was Inside Riovanes Castle, whihc is probably one of the hardest fights in all of videogames.

But other than that,

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - I've played this for over 5 years off and on and still I'm only about halfway into it.

Emerald Weapon (FFVII optional boss) - With all the special equips and materia you need to finish the fight, it's hard to cram in needed abilites, especailly if you want to maximize Cloud's strength and speed stats.

Any Megaman boss - I haven't found an easy boss in any Megaman game. Granted, I've only played X and X3, but I still can't beat most of the bosses.

The Tofu Survivor(Resident Evil 2) - Unquestionably the hardest thing I've ever tried. You get the knife to beat the hardest mission in the game, and you get to fail miserably each time you try. If anyone has beaten this, please tell me how.
Stop squirming, you're making the procedure more difficult.

The level in .hack//infection where you must play as Kite and beat the entire level AND boss on your own. I like Mia, but damn! I don't want her that bad!

The Ganon-ish boss near the end of Wind Waker, where you have to hit him with the light arrows in just the right spot, and he's always moving..

Getting the Couple's Mask in Majora's Mask. Not hard, just tedious.

¬.¬ I hate that. The Legend of Dragoon is a real bitch about that, only letting you hold 32 items. Makes the last boss even harder because you fight a boss right before the final one, and it's a long way back to the nearest shop to resupply so getting back in good condition is very difficult.

Lavos in Chrono Trigger. That thing is a bitch to kill. I only managed to do it once...

5th Gym leader in Pokemon Sapphire-a BIG pain (he keeps beating Sunny, my Combusken, to shreds)

I forgot about Lavos.. I spent over an hour trying to kill it the first time >.< and Crono just did not want to live to see the end (I should've just used Frog instead of changing my mind at the last minute). The second & third time I tried to beat it at the beginning of the game, with just Crono and Marle.. and lost both times U_U;
