Xenosaga

This is an RPG game that came out about 2 years ago. Many say there's a link between Xenosaga and Xenogears, but since I never played Xenogears, I wouldn't know. Maybe Bob can shed some light on this.

As for the game itself, it's pretty damn good. The graphics are hot, the voices are great, and the game is really long, but that's because of all the cutscenes. So. Many. Cutscenes!

Has anyone else played this game? So far, I've got 40 hours on it.

I haven't played it but I watched my friend playing it for pretty much the whole game, so I saw basically all of the cutscenes. It was... interesting, pretty confusing. I thought the main character (Shion?) was really annoying. KOS-MOS was freakin awesome though

He also bought the sequel, so I'll probably be watching that one too when he gets around to playing it.

There's not an official link between Xenosaga and Xenogears, but the hints are very strong. The main factor in both games is the Zohar. Nephilim looks remarkably like a character from Xenogears, and many many other things. It's quite possible that Xenosaga happens thousands of years before the events that take place in Xenogears.

Good game. Episode II was quite enjoyable as well.

Actually, there is a direct link between Xenogears and Xenosaga. Xenosaga is broken down into six episodes (or games, however you want to look at it). Xenogears is the fifth game in this entire saga.

Actually, that's false. Xenogears is not going to be the fifth installment in the Xenosaga series. Well.....it could be, but the Xenosaga 6 part series does not line up with the Xenogears 6 part series. Xenosaga episodes 1 - 3 look like they're solely going to cover the events in Xenogears episode 1.

To be more precise, Xenogears is episode 5 in the Xenogears storyline. However, episode 5 in the Xenosaga storyline could be something completely unrelated to Xenogears (and so far, it's looking that way).

They're two very similar universes, but they're not the same. There are subtle differences.
