*twitch* Freaking... hate... ports...

I just got KOTOR... and started playing.

First- after a while, it started LAGGING. I'm not on the freaking INTERNET, the regular game.
To top it off, I find out I have to close the game and re-open it to get rid of the lag. I can live with that.
Then, it's the thing that ticks me off- I get to one part, and every time I get close to advancing in the game- it FREAKING CLOSES. I can't even play the game! :(

This isn't the only game this has happened to my family with, it also happened with Deus Ex: Invisible War. no matter what we did, that wouldn't work.

Halo, it also backfired. except it did work on our laptop, it wouldn't on the regular computer. I've noticed all of this is from Xbox games...

System Specs Plz.

Also is all your hardware drivers up-to-date?

Plus, did you make sure to have the game updated with the latest patches first?
You seem like the kind of person who'll lie.

I'm not sure what the computers are... I know that the laptop is a toshiba, but we've had it for at least 3-4 years... and our newer computer I haven't tried KOTOR yet. but Deus Ex doesn't work on either of them...

If you laptop IS 3-4 years old, then you might as well give up, as today's games require better of everything: CPU, RAM, and graphics chipset.

And as for Deus Ex, if it's the first game you're talking about, then you should be fine, as long as you turn down the eye candy!

That, and be sure to update your drivers (chipset, video card, sound card, etc.)!
"After all these years, you know it's not about control. It's about trying to do everything I can. And for you, it's about setting an example. Everyone looks up to you. They listen to you. If you tell them to fight, they'll fight. But they need to be inspired, and let's face it, 'Superman'...the last time you really inspired anyone... was when you were dead." -- Batman, to Superman, Infinite Crisis, issue 1

it's Deus Ex: Invisible war. It doesn't work on any of my computers. KOTOR, It works for now on my family's newest one, but I'm not sure if it will keep working. at least it isn't lagging. 8)
