Like most of us on these boards, I grew up with the SNES. I loved it to pieces. I wish we didn't get rid of our SNES and games.
Anyways.. for those of you who still love the classics, this video is for you.

I just wish I could have seen more from this unknown improv group. I thought this was really well put together. I made an mp3 rip of it if anyone wants it.
Another little treat for SNES fans out there...

Nice! It's so weird, I was talking to a couple of my friends before work this morning, and one of them told me about this excat video, and now here's a post about it, kickass. I would say that, minus the Mortal Kombat theme that was there for like 10 seconds, this is more for NES fans, since they were all (minus MK) from NES games. I don't mean to nitpick but I'm pretty uptight when it comes to this sort of accuracy, sorry. ^^;;;;;

That's a good point there... but I think you're mistaken. They did two theme songs from Dr Mario and one from Tetris I believe. These were packaged into one game called Tetris and Dr Mario. There was a third game on there that was a combo of the two games, but it's been so long, I forget the name of the third game. Unless... Tetris and Dr Mario was available for NES. I don't know because I never played NES. Can you clarify this for me, Dan?MarioKnight wrote:Nice! EDIT: Now that I think about it, I think the third game in the package was called Mixed Match, but don't quote me on that one.

Yes, Dr. Mario and Tetris were originally for the NES system.RoastedTwinkies wrote:That's a good point there... but I think you're mistaken. XD I found that on Friday and was going to post it but was just to lazy. Ebaums world has a better quality one Here I thought this was hilarious. My favorites are the tetris one because it sounds lovely and because it's hilarious. The other is the Link one. I love when the guy throws the boomerang.
But what's the second song they start singing at 1:20, the one after the Mario song. I've never heard it.

Okay. That fucking rocked.
I absolutely LOVED that. And damn, they were talented singers.

Unless I'm mistaken, that's the Dr. Mario theme. I'll have to listen to it again to be sure.peachvampiress wrote:But what's the second song they start singing at 1:20, the one after the Mario song. I've never heard it.
** EDIT: Yes, this is the "Fever" theme in Dr. Mario. MIDI's can be found here**

"Tetris and Dr. Mario" was a game for the SNES. I know, because I own it. It allowed you to play Tetris 1-player, 2-player vs. a human, or 2-player vs. computer. Ditto for Dr. Mario. Lastly, there was the "Mixed Match", which was 2-player vs. a human only. You had Tetris (B-Type - where you started with a certain height of blocks), followed by Dr. Mario, followed by Tetris (A-Type: normal Tetris). You got to configure the various levels for each game, as well as the time limit. I played it mostly for Dr. Mario - the NES version didn't have a "Vs. Computer" option.RoastedTwinkies wrote:These were packaged into one game called Tetris and Dr Mario. Anyway, getting back on-topic, I really liked this. I showed it to my family, and they thought it was pretty funny, too.
Actually, I think it was just one Dr. Mario song, "Fever". The first part is the normal version (up to about 1:45), and then they do a slightly different part, but it's still "Fever". And, if anyone cares, the Tetris song was "Music-1" from "Tetris and Dr. Mario" (the NES songs are different).RoastedTwinkies wrote:They did two theme songs from Dr Mario and one from Tetris I believe.

Thanks for posting! I used to own Tetris and Dr Mario, but I got rid of it along with my SNES some years back. I really wish I hadn't. The SNES was really a great system and I can't believe I ignored it for so many years and eventually got rid of it.shansen wrote:"Tetris and Dr. Mario" was a game for the SNES.
