Just bought a couple from one of my friends on Friday night. I'm now the proud owner of Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1) (after so many years) and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (NGC). Great day for my game colelction. ^_^

Slightly OT, yesterday just going through all the DVDs at FYE due to boredom before work (I hate Saturday bus schedules, but hopefully will have a car on Wednesday ^_^ ) and found a DVD called Video Game Invasion, which is a video game history documentary made by the Game Show Network sometime last year. I consider myself to be a bit of a video game history buff so this was a great find for me, and I throughly enjoyed watching it. They went into a great amount of detail in some things, and not so much about other things which I felt should've been given more attention, but overall I can't complain. And thanks to the DVD, I know of a couple books I can look for to read (yep, video game history books are among the only books I read nowadays if I find them ^^;;; ). Now if G4 would just release a full Icons collection to DVD, that would just kickass.

About a week or so ago I bought Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
I have to say that it's an okay game. Just having to go through each level to progress through the storyline is just..weird.
Comparing it to the original, I think I like the first one better.
I am rather glad that I have it, though.

I buckled down a few weeks ago and splurged on a Nintendo DS and a copy of WarioWare: Touched.

Was it expensive? Yup.

Worth it? Aww yeah :D

Touched is such a fun game; if you've ever played any of the other WarioWare games, it's very similar, only this one uses the touch screen as the primarly means of control. Aside from beating the individual character levels, there are other milestones you can break through, each one offering you a small little "toy" that lets you play with various effects provided by the touch screen. It's brought me hours of entertainment, and I know I have many more to go as I try to unlock everything I can in it.

Ma gave me two games today as a late birthday-gift. It was Castlevania to Game Boy Advance and Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelist of the Roses to Playstation 2 :D . As soon as I get the chance, I'll test them.

I finally broke down and bought a Playstation 2 today. It's nice, but I'm looking for some good RPG's for it now. It's only a matter of time until I'm a zombie.... ^__^

I got a Game Boy Advance with Dr Mario for my birthday some weeks back. Since then I bought Super Mario World and Mario Kart: Super Circuit. I got this stuff because I wanted to go back to the old school games because I haven't been too impressed with the new games. Just because a game has good graphics doesn't mean that it's a good game. The old school games are better because even though the graphics aren't as good, more time was spent on the quality of the game. It's disappointing that nowadays, more time is spent on the graphics rather than the overall game quality.

It's cool that the old school games have some new features on them for GBA. But it's a little disappointing that they don't have the full original SNES versions. I miss that Battle Mode game on the original Super Mario Kart. But I think the reason why we don't get the full SNES versions is because the memory on the GBA game packs probably can't handle it. But overall, I've been really happy with my new GBA and games. We play two player games at work during our breaks ^_________^

Sorry, but I have to go OT to address this. A GBA cart is capible of having a lot more memory than an SNES cart. The biggest SNES cart ever is 32 megabits, used for many of the later games in the system's life. GBA carts started at 32 and 64 megabits and I've seen them go as high as 256 megabits for a couple games. For the SNES ports you do get the full game plus the bonuses as you said. In the case of Mario Kart, it's not a port, it's an original game, which is why things from the SNES cart aren't present. The only thing you'll find from the SNES original in the GBA version is four of the original courses playable only in single-pak multiplayer mode.

I recently got the Conker's Bad Fur Day remake for the Xbox, some parts it's better than the original, but I think for the multiplayer thing is where the older version was much better. It's only 2 players this time, I think the mission things aren't as fun either..

My recent buys:

R-Type Final (got it for less; more importantly, it's a shooter (a rare breed these days)!)

Twisted Metal 1 (used copy)

Now, I'm trying to get Gradius V!

UPDATE:

I got Gradius V, as well as Grand Theft Auto 3, thus completing my GTA collection on the PS2!

Thanks for clarifying that! Everyone at work including myself were wondering why the GBA versions are so limited. But I still can't see why they can't release the full versions. Originally on Super Mario World, it was a one or two player game whereas in the GBA version, you can only play in the one player mode. I think it sucks if you ask me. At least the new bonus features make up for it though.

But I'm pulling this more offtopic than I should, so I'll save this for another thread.
