Dance Dance Revolution Pad/Mat Instruction Sheet

Post by Miyamoto » Wed Oct 22, 2003 6:04 pm

My brother and I just got a new DDR pad called the Ignition 2.1 and with it came an instruction sheet. It explains how to use the pad etc. but the english is horrible. Some of the warnings don't even make sense. This is what happens when the Japanese try and speak English. It's called Engrish.

Here are the warnings:

This pad came with some adhesive pads if you may to stick onto the bottom of the DDR pad to prevent it from slipping etc. Here's what it says about that:

"Dance Performance
Instruction

Thanks for purchasing our product. This product is made for dancing and health-care. Please read this instruction carefully before using and please follow the steps properly and remember to take good care of this instruction."

Here it shows you how to remove the cellophane paper etc and where to stick it on the pad.

1. Wipe off the dust on the surface of the product, peel off the white paper.
fix it in the four corners on the cushion.
2. Peel off the cellophane paper, fix the attached surface on the ground.
3. If attached surface is dusty, it can be wipe off by a piece of cloth.

OMG my brother and I laughed so hard when we first read these... I hope you guys enjoy this....

Heh, nice, maybe I'll get one and then hang up the instructions somewhere.

I would like to know though how well the pad works and everything. I know the ignition series is supposed to be the best soft pads out there so I want to know if they're worth the money. I might just put it on my xmas list.

MK: These pads ARE good. I went from a C to an A on some songs basically overnight when using this pad... I really sucked on my other set of pads... Also.. you don't have to stomp on these as hard as others. My brother got it and he spent about $50 with shipping which ain't bad. :D I'd get one. It's well worth the money. He's improved too.

The only thing with soft pads is you must play without shoes, which is different than playing in the arcade. I have a cobalt flux metal pad, which I love. Yes it was very expensive, but it's one of, if not the best home pad on the market. The real thing to remember, no pad can be exactly like the arcade.

I friend of mine bought a Cobalt Flux. And I love it! It plays soo well! The only bad thing is that I have to play with shoes. Cause I play on my toes, whereas most people play with there entire foot. It's easier for me to play with my toes. So, if I don't have shoes on and I'm playing on his pad, then my feet hurt soo bad!

I have the DDR brand pads, but I'm going to buy some better ones after X-mas. I'm having problems on Standard, cause my pads slip around a lot. Any recommendations for some affordable yet reliable pads?

I think there's a bundle out that has DDR MAX2 and a Konami soft pad. From what I've heard, they are very nice soft pads, and don't slip very often. At Gamestop they sell soft pads that have a gray-ish bottom that grip pretty well on carpet.

That's the kind I have. I said DDR brand, cause the pads say DDR. But I was looking at them later last night, and they're Game Depot. They have the grayish bottom on them, but they slip all the time. It may be because I don't lift my feet very high, though. So, I'm actually pushing the pad. The main reason I want new ones is because mine are starting to mess up. I'll stand in the center, and the pad will hit the up button. It's very, very annoying.

That's one of the big problem with the soft pads, they wear out very quickly. You may want to try picking the pad up by on of the sides and "fan" it out like you would a rug that has folds in it. That may help the circuitry get back to normal.

One thing people have done is mod their soft pads. Get a piece of foam 3' by 3'(whatever the dimensions for a DDR pad is, I think that's right) and get the same size of plywood. Put the foam on top of the plywood and tape it down. Then put the pad on top of the foam and tape it again with clear tape. It's not the best thing, but it may stop your slipping problem. :D
