Video Game themes that get stuck in your head.

Post by Lady of the Light » Tue Jul 20, 2004 12:06 am

I'm sure that this has all happened to us before. You're innocently playing a video game, cruising along, saving the world and such...All is well. Until you turn off the game and realize...
You have the same music going on inside your head. Over, and over, and over...AND IT WON'T GET OUT!
So, what video game tunes have gotten stuck in your head over the years?
Mine would have to be
The theme in Chao Garden from Sonic. Man, it just keeps on repeating...and repeating...Very fun to hum when you're walking around in a library, though. ~_^
Fairy Fountain from Zelda: Again, it just keeps on going on and on...It never stops...
Mr. James : Lost a satellite on liftoff today.
Dave : Cost?
Mr. James : 10 million dollars.
Dave : Result?
Mr. James : Extreme set back.
Dave : Milk?
Mr. James : Spilled.
Dave : Gonna cry about it?
Mr. James : Not even.
Dave : I''m sitting on a rather sharp tack.
Mr. James : That's gotta hurt.
Dave : Well, life's a bitch...
Mr. James : ...And then you die.
Dave : My...
Mr. James : ...oh...
Dave : ...my.

There's this one song from FFIX that got stuck in my head. It's from the scene where
Zidane's lost his memory and all his friends are trying to talk some sense into him.
^_^ I just started humming that tune one day. Still do it occasionally...
"Tell my tale to those who ask... tell it truthfully, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence..." last words of Dinobot, "Code of Hero"
"Is that a poisonous elephant in your pocket or are you happy to see me?" ~another forum
"Monster! I''''m going to collide with you indefinitely as my limbs flail wildly about!" ~NPC, Dragon Warrior VII
"I bet you were thinking how hot it would be to see Tsunade with her gates wide open, inviting you..." ~DuneMan
"To use gaming terms, Tyrannosaurus Rex was a camper--- and he pwned his prey!" ~BaronVonAwesome
"I prefer to beat my opponents the old-fashioned way: brutally!" ~Dinobot

My big one lately is Paine's (FFX-2) image song, Nemuru Omoi - it gets stuck in my head, and then I go humming it all day.

Chocobo themes tend to do that too, and so does the gummi ship theme in Kingdom Hearts and the music from City Escape in Sonic Adventure 2.

The song that plays in FFIX as the game comes up (the menu music). My cell phone ringer sounds similar to it, and so I keep humming the damn tune when my phone goes off.
"I loved you. I was a pentapod monster, but I love you. I was despicable and brutal and turpid, mais je t'aimais, je t'aimais. And there were times when I knew how you felt, and it was hell to know it. My Lolita girl, brave Dolly Schuller."

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Hmm, Magus' Theme from Chrono Trigger. Celes, Terra, and Relm's themes from FFVI. Time's Scar (the opening theme) from Chrono Cross. Basically anything from Mitsuda I remember well (he's a genious).

This is embarracing... any of the background music from the original Pokemon gameboy games. The music was so cheesy and annoying, but it just got stuck in my head so badly!

The overwold theme from Zelda 2. My father and I tried so hard to beat this game, never did. But we heard that walking around theme so often we called it the "Stay on the road" song. There's a series of 3 bars of 4 notes, and we would sing, "stay on the road, stay on the road, stay on the road." And then that sound effect would cut in and the other theme would start: "You. did. not. stay. on the road."
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

If I play a game long enough, its music tends to stick with me in one way or another; lately, I've had the FFX-2 theme for Bevelle in my head ><

Bubble Bobble theme...my husband starts humming it or something and once I catch on to what it is, it's in my head for a week. I have to smack him for that sometimes. :P Also, the Golden Saucer theme from FFVII. Both of them are so easy to stick in my head, and I hate both of them! :(

The theme for Midnight Mountain Home (look, alliteration!) in Spyro: Year of the Dragon. It's kinda haunting (complete with owls hooting!) and spooky, and if you go to bed directly after playing that game, you'll be taking a while to get to sleep.
That avatar is a self portrait. Really. Really. No matter how much it looks like D'Angelo, that's me. .... Oh, just shut up.

I've had the exact same problem with Halo since after i've played it, i would leave it on while i'm browsing on sites or chatting and all I would hear was the background music. It was stuck in my head for days!

I can't believe no one ever mentioned this one! I can't get the classic Mario Brothers themes out of my head. I even download remixes of the game music occasionally.

One-Winged Angel from FFVII. Luckily for me it's an awesome song, so having it stuck in my head doesn't bother me. I have the PSF file on my computer and listen to it with the speakers turned up high. Like right now. ...I scared my mom the first time I played it.

I also have Frog's theme from Chrono Trigger firmly lodged in my brain. I whistle it all of the time. Some parts of it remind me of the theme song from "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" ...But I'm just weird. >_>;

Right now, I have the opening BGM for the American release of Tales of Symphonia stuck in my head. No, I don't know what the Japanese opening is like...

Throughout all of this past May, I had "One-Winged Angel" playing over and over again (like NameGoesHere). And throughout all of this past June, I've had "Breeze" from Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life running for several hours at a time. ^^; Other themes that I've had stuck in my head were

~"Dungeon Theme" (The Legend of Zelda)
~"Shadow Link's Theme" and "Boss Battle Theme" (The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures)
~All 5 parts of "Aryll's Rescue" (The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker)
~"Crossing3084" (Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2)

Talk about pathetic! XP
"I want to go back to believing in everything and knowing nothing at all..."
~Evanescence, "Field of Innocence"

"I love you."
"WHAT!?! What did you say!?"
"Um, uh, olive juice!"
"...Olive juice?"
"*in a whisper* Olive juice you too!"
~Stewie and Brian, Family Guy, "The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou"

Currently The Extreme from FF8 because i recently replayed it. It's the very final boss music. It reminds me of a cross between the boss music from FF4 and the intro theme in Parasite Eve "Primil Eyes"

And many tracks fom Valkyrie Profile because I'm currently playing that again. Especially the intro sequence music "Take a Flight" or something like that and "Blameless Thoughts" (music played when you clear a dungeon). This game has some of the best synth music I've ever heard.
"This guy are sick."- Aeris (Final Fantasy VII)

'Jenova Absolute' from Final Fantasy VII, the Casino Night Zone theme from Sonic 2, the random battle music from Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, and the final battle with your rival music from Pokemon Red/Blue.
Stop squirming, you're making the procedure more difficult.

Since my brother plays it often enough I have the Super Smash Brothers Melee themes in my head. They're pretty catchy... They don't bother me at all.

RoastedTwinkies: Of course! ^_^ The Mario themes! I love those as well. Overclockedremix.org rules!
