I don't. I haven't a Nintendo game in ages.
Also, just to be nitpicky, Rockstar games does care about Nintendo. With NFS: Underground released on both GCN and GBA, that hardly seems to be ignoring the systems.
I think Nedd for Speed was Electronic Arts. Or did Rockstar acquire the rights?
As for 2-D fighting games, those things are horrible on the GBA systems. The screen is far too tiny to efficiently move around. Not to mention the eye strain.
They may be horrible on GBA, but at least they'd make use of the power of the system. SNK vs. Capcom for the X-Box...looks like a Dreamcast launch title. The 3-D backgrounds in the King of Fighters '94 remake could be on PlayStation 1, and don't even get me started on the recycled sprite fest that is Capcom Fighteing Jam.
Lastly, if you're so dissatisfied with Nintendo, then why not purchase the other systems? What's going on with Nintendo is not going to change.
I have a PlayStation 2 also. I have bought, maybe, six games for both the PlayStation 2 and Gamecube since they came out. I played Dance Dance Revolution more than any other game on PlayStation 2, which is really depressing. I have yet to play the Sly Cooper / Jak and Daxter / Ratchet and Clank series, which I really want to start doing it. Aside from Final Fantasy XII, they're the only games I really want in the future on PlayStation 2. I care zero for Grand Theft Auto, Tekken, and any other major PlayStation 2 franchise.
..it's time to accept that while Nintendo is still a great system, it is no longer the supreme staple of video games.
I've felt that way about Nintendo not being great since 1995, when the PlayStation and Saturn wiped the floor with Nintendo for nearly a whole year until the N64 came out. Then Pokemon came, and Nintendo was (briefly) on top again. Then the N64 died, and the Gamecube hasn't been doing as well as it could (or should), losing out to even Nintendo's own Game Boy Advance in sales.
I just find the video gaming industry in the past decade a depressing one. Two major companies, who have NEVER made video games before in their lives (and in the case of Sony, GOOD video games before) up until their consoles' debut, end up controlling over two-thirds of the market, maybe more. Video gaming has become mainstreaming, supposedly, because of Sony and Microsoft, but as a result, Nintendo has just stopped trying. Pikmin and Animal Crosssing are the only two decent original titles they've cranked out in year, and no doubt Nintendo will make both to the ground, like they did with Pokemon and Mario.
I don't care if Nintendo is kiddy. Many of my favorite video games are E-rated animal platform games. My promise is Nintendo isn't trying anymore. Really, after Metroid Prime 2 comes out, what would Gamecube owners have to look forward to afterwards? A new Legend of Zelda, considering the mixed opinions of The Wind Waker and all? That's it. Mario 128 is a pipe dream for now, and I don't think there will ever be REAL Kirby and Pokemon games on Gamecube. Nintendo is going the way of Sega, except when Nintendo leaves, they say they'll be leaving for
good (they refuse to make games for PS2 and X-Box), and all their franchises will go with them.
With only one game I've looked forward to in the past year on Gamecube (Paper Mario 2), and with only action games on PlayStation 2 sparking my interest, sometimes I wonder why I bought next-gen systems at all. Oh well...time to dust off my SNES and replay some ol' Super Mario All-Stars goodness. And I apologize for my rudeness earlier.
