Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone knew what was up with the Giant Robofish, and to brag a little about my purchases.

Giant Red Robofish and other manga woes...
So, Sunday my local Waldensbooks had a "manga night." All manga in the store was %15 off. Plus, I had a preferred reader card, so there was even MORE moneys saved! Spending so much time in the manga section gave me a chance to notice all the giant red robofish (Tokyopop's logo) that are showing up on the spines of books. What's up with that? I remember that when I bought my Shirahime-syo, it had a red fish, but I thought it was just because it was hardback. Here's something even stranger: RANDOM books in the series have them! Example: I bought 1 and 2 of Dragon Knights...the first book has big red logo, the second has the small, white logo. Jing was the same. The first and third volumes didn't have them, but SOME of the copies of the second one did. Can someone explain this to me? I don't like it one bit. It makes the spines look ugly. Also on the annoying side are those white security strips. Luckily, out of the 11 books I bought, I only had 4 strips total, but my friend, who ALSO bought 11, she had 5 IN ONE BOOK. I think it was a bigger book, tho (trigun maximum or something). I pull these things out, and now two of my books have tiny holes in them where they stuck (luckily, the holes are on unimportant pages in the back). The bookstore person said "We only put them on the advertisement pages!" Um...the middle of the book is NOT an advertisement page.
Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone knew what was up with the Giant Robofish, and to brag a little about my purchases.
No, just kidding.

Giant Robofish? Heheh, never thought of them as "fish", just as odd floating heads ^^;;
Anyways...it might be that Tokyopop is rereleasing the graphic novels with better editing or different sizes. I know Viz is currently re-releasing half the GNs I have of theirs in smaller sizes, and any new volumes will be that size as well...thus, my Eva manga will look a little awkward shrinking as the volume number goes up ^^;
And yes, I hate those white security magnets, too. I pick up my books at the comic store, so I manage to avoid them, but I hate when they're put on books or other paper products; I can't remove them without tearing up whatever they're stuck to ><

I never thought they looked like fish either. The copyright info on the inside covers say "Tokyopop, the robofish, and all other logos, etc" (I read it one day while I was bored) It's a cute logo, it's just taking up WAY too much space.Heheh, never thought of them as "fish", just as odd floating heads ^^;;
