Full Moon w(o) Sagashite

Anyone ever read the anime or manga? I'm a big fan of the anime (haven't read much of the manga), and I'm a big fan of Tanemura Arina's art. ^_^

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC - LOL, not to be nitpicky....But correct me if i'm wrong, but the parenthesis in w(o) would indicate that the o is optional, correct?

If that's the right assumption, then it should be (w)o =P Most japanese say "o" instead of "wo" as "wo" is the "old fashioned" way to use that particle. /off topic

To stay on topic, I've never seen it but i've heard some good things about it =) I want to see it.

Great series. I watched the entire series quite a while ago. I can still remember waiting for the last few episodes to come out fansubbed.

I've read some of the manga, although not very much. However, the anime series is great. I also think the ED songs are among the best anime songs (I've downloaded all of them).

As for a description, here's a synopsis of episode 1 - it's probably the easiest way to describe the show. Kouyama Mitsuki is 12 years old and wants to be a singer. However, she has a malignant tumor in her throat. If it's operated on, she will almost certainly lose her voice. However, without the operation, she could die. She's determined to sing, though, because of a promise she made with Eichi, a boy she liked who moved away.

She is in her room when two Shinigami (Japanese Gods of death), Takuto and Meroko, appear. To their shock, she's able to see them. She finds out that she's going to die in one year. She decides to try to be a singer in that time, but can't get into auditions because she's too young. So, Takuto decides to help her out by changing her into a 16-year-old without any voice problems. If she fails the next audition, she'll stop running away from them.

However, she succeeds, so Takuto and Meroko have to keep her identity a secret (she can be transformed back and forth between the two forms with Takuto's help). The Shinigami also have to make sure that they do nothing that will either make her die sooner than she's supposed to, or that will allow her to live longer than she's supposed to.

It was a great series - really good humour throughout, but then it got serious towards the end as the one year mark approaches. The ending was excellent. Several other people who were watching the show shared this opinion.

I've seen it spelled both "o" and "wo", hence the parenthesis. Most people do spell it as "o", though.

I have read the first three chapters of the first volume, and I must say it has become one of my favorites! ^^ Too bad the translation of FMoS has been discontinued over at toriyamaworld.com... is their anywhere else I can find translations of the manga?

I really wanna see this series but the only way to obtain it on Bit Torrent and that depends on ppl seeding it... Also individual eps aren't available anymore (on BT) so if I get it I'd have to get the complete series all at once.

Well, I've read all the manga and seen a few of the anime episodes. I really love the plot of the Full Moon wo Sagashite manga; the series looks cute but it has such a deep storyline, I like the themes it discusses, like the regrets we have when loved ones pass away, and being afraid to live or die. It's such a beautiful series, Takuto and Mitsuki are my favourite characters. :)

DistantMemory, you can download the manga at Syuura. The webmistress has uploaded most of the manga translated by Selene Scans. :)

I was planning to buy the manga from Animaxis. But right now they don't appear to have it available. Does anyone know of another good place that has the manga available? Thanks in advance.

One site is Sasuga books - http://www.sasugabooks.com/ is the site. It's kind of hard to tell if it's in stock or not (I don't see any obvious "in stock" label anywhere).

There's also the Japanese Amazon site ... http://www.amazon.co.jp/ . Click here for the search results. Each one is 410 Yen, but then there's shipping & taxes. Also, I have no idea how long it would take to ship. But I guess it's always an option.

Shouldn't the topic name be 'Full Moon (w)o Sagashite'? ^^'' Since some people pronounce it 'wo' and others just 'o'?
Oooh, I like the manga, but I'm a much bigger fan of the anime! ^^
Negi-Ramen's so funny! And their plushie forms are so cute. :3
Mitsuki's also my favorite. ^^
My maid LOVES the songs.

<off-topic> Thank you! ^-^ xD</off-topic>

Does anyone know if the show will ever get dubbed? I'd love to see it dubbed... what voice-actors do you think they'd give for the characters if it ever gets dubbed?
