Boys Over Flowers fan! *points to self*
I love that manga. I've got the first 4 vol. so far. Oh man, everything happens in there. Poor girl up against an entire school of snobs. I'm so glad my high school experience wasn't like that.
I'm actually rooting for Tsukushi and Tsukasa. They seem to need each other. Tsukasa needs a girl who isn't afraid to tell him when he's being a massive jerk. It's just so funny when he uses the wrong word for the situation.
I can't wait for the next volume. Has anyone seen the anime? I'm thinking of looking into it.
Sailorm64: to answer your question about other manga...there are several threads talking about various series. They should be able to give you a glimpse into what ones would interest you. That and looking at the "Your Manga Collection" thread is very insightful into what ones that are more popular among everyone. However, personally, I would suggest if you like this series to read Peach Girl.

Re: Boys Over Flowers
In my opinion you should seriously consider checking out "Kodocha" by Miho Obana. That is one of the best graphic novels/comic books/manga ever created in my opinion! I usually don't like to call anything perfect (I can even find flaws with my most personal favorite series), but "Kodocha" just got everything right, there's no better way to describe it. Boy or girl, fan of romance or not, prefer comedy or drama, "Kodocha" gets everything right and I think that's one series that anybody could get into. Its not shonen and its not shoujo (And even if it's classified as one of those things its not true), its a series that has something for everyone. And I really do mean that.Sailorm64 wrote:OK..I'm kinda new with all the mangas and everything..but I have to say, the frist one that I chose...Boys over Flowers is soo good! I love that series! The correct title is actually Hana Yori Dango. In Japan their are 36 manga volumes and a bunch of anime episodes, however, the anime only goes up to volume 18 and creates and original ending, while the manga delves through 36 volumes. It is such a great series. Rui and Soujirou are very good looking. Tsukushi, the main character, is my favorite Hana Yori Dango Character. Oh yeah, I love everyone in the F4. Originally it was going to be the F5 and Rui was going to be the one it centered around most. The story actually ended up a lot different then it was originally planned, and a lot of it had to do with the fans. Anyway, this is a great series. The company that translated it, Viz, however, is very slow with producing the manga, so you're best bet is to order some of the Japanese tankubon, and if you can't read Japanese, get translation sheets too. I can give you some links to it. Also, you can buy fansubs, the manga is a lot logner then the anime, however. They are both great. Anyway, HYD is a fun, serious series that is easy to relate to. I used to have a crazy obsessed stalker too, but I have a boyfriend, so the stalker stops stalking. Anyway, I am so glad I found other fans of this wonderful series. Their is a huge love triangle, and Rui and Tsukasa both love the heroine. The anime makes it seem like only one of them ends up truely loving the heroine, but in the manga, they both truly love the heroine. They are both great guys. Oh, I also get the series through a Japanese company, so I have the manga, and I always get so surprised at each twist and turn. Volume 6 has a major cliffhanger. In case you don't own the Japanese series and rely on the issues that come otu every other month, if you want to know, here's the cliffhanger in volume six.
Rui kisses Tsukushi on the beach and Tsukasa sees this.
Also, the anime ends way before the manga. The manga has 38 volumes and the anime only goes up to volume 18.
It's a major one.

Usagi and Mamoru are my favorite couple ever. Usagi and Mamoru forever!
