Wow. I actually think it's pretty damn good. I mean..all you've really listed is voices and bad dialog...neither of which actually bother me. A few of the jokes are lame, but it's not like there are multiple cuts or alterations. The violence and blood is still there, the plot seems to be well-kept, and some of the voices are actually pretty good, IMO.

And they had to change the name due to copyright laws or something. They didn't just up and pull it out of their ass for no reason.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I've heard (though I don't know if it's true or not) that it was the company that gave the show to Funimation who are responsible for the name changes. It wouldn't be the first time a Japanese company has been responsible for changes in a dub...

actually, i heard it was because of the rights to conan the barbarian. i've heard this from a couple of different, but reliable sources, so, i'm sure this is the reason. it's not that i didn't know this, i just really hate calling it that.

Well, after seeing two episodes of it dubbed, I can safely add Wedding Peach to the bad dub pile. ADV's actors in their Monster Island division couldn't act if their lives depended on it. Even Optimum was never this bad!

Yeah, Wedding Peach is pretty bad. The translation is a little too literal in places, so things come out sounding awkward (i.e. "please aid me!" instead of "Help!"), and the voice acting isn't very good. It's not a horrid dub, but I've seen better.

Hmmmmm.......I have to say that the latter dubs that start mid Frieza Saga are horrible! While I do like the original, Japanese DBZ, I like the earlier dubbed voices as opposed to the latter ones.

Well, being a 30 year old woman myself, I'm trying to figure out what that is supposed to mean? I don't sound any different than I did when I was ten.

EDIT: Sailor Luna, I know you're new, but please don't double post. If you have more to add to a recent post, you can edit it rather than making a second one so soon after the first.

I think I said that, too. I meant that Misao's dub voice is done by a woman of that age, but the woman doesn't even try to remotely act to hide her age. It's like how you can tell in dub anime when guys not even 40 are doing senior citizens..it sounds really cheesy and fake. But at least they TRY to sound the age of the characters they're playing. Misao's dub voice sounds too old for a teenager, let alone a 10 year-old girl.

This only really applies to the 1st episode of the Pretty Sammy OAV, though. Misao's second dub voice is noticeably better (which I didn't learn until now because I was too afraid up until a while ago to watch the other two episodes in English).
