Yes the english dialects are done pretty well, though some are not as good due to the fact that some of the actors are not from the patricular areas.
Demon lord Dante has a horrible dub that basicly makes the show comic when it is trying to be serious, the original devil man ova had this same problem when it was dubbed. It seems few of Go Nagi's works get dubbed well.
Wrath of the nInja has a very inacurate dub that ruins the show.
M.D Geist, but everything is bad about that one so its not as noticable.
Sailor Moon of course, but S just made me cringe in pain.
I think tenchi had a decent voice cast, with Ryoko being the stand out. I think the voice actress captured the sultriness of the character very well.

Sailor Moon had amazing dubbing until it hit the S series. I would love to know where they found that terrible voice actress. I could have done better than that.

Yes, becuase....the millions of cuts, the entire cut episodes, the alterations, the pointless name changes, the plot changes, the horrid squaking Serena, and the pointless accents were THAT much better..o_O;

o__O; Did you even SEE the changes made in our comparisons section?

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

? I just joined this site I didn't even see the thread :? I was simply giving my thoughts on the series no need for hostility. I don't even know what you are talking about

Um..the comparisons aren't a "thread". It's the entire SMU site. Have you even visited the site before joining the forum?? Perhaps you should do that, to see what our site is even about.

And i'm merely countering your statement with an argument of my own. I find it very baffling that you think S is a worse dub simply becuase of ONE voice actress. It's kind of a weak reason.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Whatever it is, I joined because I love Sailor Moon. I saw the SM section and went straight for it. I am not going to sit here and list every reason. I listed the main reason why I didn't like it and besides, it is my own reason so it shouldn't matter to other people whether or not it is a "weak" reason, it is my reason. I am here to post my opinions, not to be treated like I am an idiot thank you. I am also not here to argue.

... ... ...

Um, anyway, I can not stand the Cardcaptors dub. I could put up with it for awhile, but I was watching an episode the other day and the voices just got so monotone I couldn't stand it. Exgagirated example:

SaKOOOra :wooden voice: "Let's make dinner"

:long pause while they cook dinner:

Julian " :semi-dull voice: "Can I help?"

pause

SaKOORa "Sure, you can chop an onion"

... ... @_______@ Now, usually I can put up with crappiness when a bishounen is on screen (in this case there were two), but I just turned it off. Blarg! I wish that the DVDs were cheap so I could buy them

Other then that, I don't have any others I can think of now ^_^;

Yeah I agree with Cardcaptors. I used to watch it but then it seemed to get a bit stale. I found it rather monotone as well.

Nobody asked you to list every reason. My point is merely that this forum is part of a SITE, a complex site that compares the dubbed and original episodes of Sailor Moon. So, not everyone may agree with you on the dubbed episodes. And I'm perfectly entitled to believe it is "weak", just as you are entitled to list whatever you want. People will argue. People will disagree. So expect it.

Enough of this back and forth nonsense. Read what the mods have to say, read the rules, FOLLOW them, and all should be good.

The topic asked about the dubs that sucked and I gave my main reason. Sorry, I just don't seem to see where the argument was stemming from that. Let's just move on ok. It was just my thought, no big deal but if you don't agree then fine like I said, it was my main reason, not the only reason I ride on.

I SPECIFICALLY said TWICE that this was over. Yet you continue to reply. Second warning.

Quite frankly, I don't CARE what your reasons were, or why you had your thoughts, or what your reason was, or why, etc, etc. I'm here to make sure things are kept in order, and that the rules are followed. DO NOT mention this continuing idiocy again. Don't reply to this. If you want to "move on", then DO IT.

Ok. Quite frankly that argument was completely avoidalbe. Everybody has an opinion and are entitled to. Besides Tiff she's new give her a chance.

Now anyway Naru's voice is horrid. The directors musta been high and tipsy when they let that actress in the studio. What was the point of the British accent again?

Lunareclipse, now YOU are officially warned. I SPECIFICALLY said not to bring this up again. And yet, you did. Being new does not mean people have the right to be rude or break rules. This was settled between Sailor Jupiter and I via PM and through posts. You had no reason to butt in. You've already irritated me with your PMs about people who have been banned.

Either butt out of things that don't concern you, or you can find yourself temporarily banned.

Do you actually mean Naru? Or do you mean Molly? Cause Molly didn't have a British accent.

Yeah, it's more of a Brooklyn/Jersey accent...Luna and Amy have the British-type accents. (especially Luna)

Sorry for going off topic, but this was bugging me. Amy's voice doesn't sound British to me? Is it a faint accent, or is my hearing weird?
who's naru anyway?
Molly in the Japanese version.

detective conan, oh excuse me, "cased closed" this, in my opinion, is a bad dub for many reasons. i really can't stand any of the voices (that's right, any of them). there is some ok acting, but the only problem is none of it's coming from the main characters. i just simply hate it when they change all the names in a dub, it feels like an insult to our intelligence. finally, all the funky dialogue. my biggest problem with funimation is their never-ending need for out-of-place jokes and lame insults.
