Hoshi no Kabii

Post by Celexa » Sat Oct 18, 2003 12:17 am

I had to make this eventually  How to start it off...um....all Meta Knight fan girls raise your hand! *shoots both hands up in the air*

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

I've never heard of this series. Wait... MetaKnight? Is this the Japanese name for the Kirby anime? Cause if so, then I wasn't that fond of it. It kinda bugged me. If I'm going with cute anime, it has to be completely cute, like Hamtaro!

Nu-uh. Meta Knight is one of the characters. Kirby is really kawaii...but I haven't seen original. Here's the URL to a pic of Mety-kun.

http://www.ivynajspyder.com/Kirby/mk_fight.jpg

Note that it's rather large, so if you have dial-up and you want to see it, I suggest keeping two screens open. But if you have cable it loads in like five seconds.

Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I meant that as is 'Hoshi no Kabii' the Japanese name? I've read some of the comics from Kirby (from Nintendo Power), so I recognized the name MetaKnight.

I'm a big fan of the Kirby games (Kirby should replace Mario as Nintendo's mascot if you ask me :D), but I've never seen the anime (Actually... I'm not sure if it aired in the UK). I've seen some raw clips, but that's about it. It looks cute, and I'm sure I'd snap it up in a instance if the discs were bilingual, but alas...-

Meta Knight is just a little blue guy with a creepy mask and cape, iirc...

I watched some of that show. It was pretty good. That Dedede guy is a lame-ass villain, though. I mean, he's a penguin, how threatening can that be?

I have a rom of Kirby Superstar for the SNES. I like that game a lot. Damn arena game is so hard, though...

That show is positively adorable, but Kirby needs more air-time ^^;; Otherwise, I find it somewhat enjoyable; aside from the cute Kirby moments, though, this isn't really my cup o' tea, and watch it with my fianceé Saturday Mornings if we can (9:00 AM, though...too early on the east coast ><)

His english voice is awful. (Spanish? O.o) but his Japanese voice is hot...oh and you can get English Kirby DvDs off Amazon.com, but they only have the first three episodes. A box set is coming out November 11th though! My favorite episode:

English: 24 (Sword and Blade, Loyal and True)
Japanese: 26 (Loyalty! Sword and Blade)

Quote Pyrasaur, from a synopsis:
"Ah, mentioning this episode to a Meta Knight fangirl is probably the quickest way to get her riled up."

A good Kirby site is at http://www.ivynajspyder.com/Kirby/index.htm

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I have no idea which country you live in Tiff, but I know that the USA gets the english dub Kirby: Right Back At Ya! in the Foxbox 8:00 central time. I don't know about England or Canada. You can also buy the DvDs off Amazon.com if you're interesed enough. Search Kirby for DvDs, but there isn't an instant response, you need to alphabatize it and find Kirby -_-;;

^^; I live in the US, but watch very little TV, let alone dubs. I have no interest in Kirby whatsoever, but thanks just the same!

You're welcome! ^.^ I really never watch TV except for Kirby and my SM DvDs. As for the dub, it's a heckofalot better than Sailor Moon's. But there is some censorship. (They cut a battle short by a few seconds, cut short the bathroom scenes by plenty, and change the music ocasionally) Some of the Japanese is really funny though.

Little nitpick: It's "Kaabii", not "Kabii". Here's the logo from the official site:
http://hicbc.com/tv/kirby/image/logo.gif
If you can't read katakana, that horizontal line extends the "a" sound into a long vowel.

Thanks for the correction! And no, I can't read any form of the Japanese language. The only symbol I know is Moon.

The Japanese song is the KYOOTEST little march! (But the english theme song is catchy too!)

"Itsudemo kusu kaabii, hoshi...no kaabii...*dun dun dun dun...dun...*

I could have some of my romanizations a little off there...^.^;;
