First Topic, 4Kids trying to get Ojamajo Doremi?!!!

thats more of a FUNImation thing than 4kids....at least i think thats right. cuz isnt FUNI the distributor to 4kids?

I don't think it's Funimation... all their anime DVDs are bilingual, iirc.

They are connected. The thing we have to do is convince 4Kids to give Funimation permission to release a subbed version. The actual subbed version would be produced by Funi, but 4Kids has to give them the go ahead to do so. I'm sure Funi would be happy to release a subbed version if 4Kids said they could, considering that they tried to do the same thing with Shaman King.

well i was on the right track. maybe 4stupid is getting a hint that shows sell more with bilingual stuff? they should. they fell through with ultimate muscle and ultraman tiga...neither show i like, but its a start.

I don't think 4Kids is learning anything, this is more of a scam then anything. How many anime fans do you know who wanted this? How many kids do you know who wanted this? Not many. That's why I think 4Kids is going to release this, watch it bomb on the market, and say something like "See! We gave you anime fans EXACTLY what you wanted and it didn't sell! There is no market for subtitled DVD's. SO SHUT UP!!!!" If 4Kids really wanted to please anime fans they would announce that "Shaman King" would be shipping with an original Japanese subtitled version on the DVD, but by picking a title that was doomed from the start they are basically using this as their excuse that there is no market for DVD releases that contains subtitled versions of everyone's favorite show. So be careful of this one, be VERY careful!

well, shaman kind JUST started so i dont think there are plans to announce yet for their DVDs to be either bilingual or not. it took yugiohs first season until it got released. i say, give it time, then you can burn 4kids about that. for now, i say its more of a start than just to be evil. and if im wrong when they announce any of what you said, i will then change my opinion without complaint ^^

That's not a good idea to take towards the treatment of any anime. I mean, if 4Kids were to screw over YGO then why would it be a surprise if any other series they got wound up getting screwed over too? An anime dubbing company's only as good as their last anime dub, and there's no telling when the next anime will be licensed by another company in America.

It got better. IMO I like the new ones. I havn't heard Shadow Realm for every SINGLE thing. Sure, mentioned a few times, but no heart of the cards anymore. I miss them too much

It is cute, just like the whole Charlie Brown Christmas special (which is one of my favorit holdiay specials ever). I'm just making a point concerning 4Kids here.
