I don't watch a lot of dubbed anime do to the fact that it can be very painful to listen to. So much of it seemed forced or made to fit in that i can't really enjoy it much. And then there are those times when you just have bad casting. It just takes away from the moment.
but I do have to say that I did enjoy the voice casts on films like Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. At least they were trying to have quality. Although I can't give too much vote for the other ones.
Serena's accent always bugged me. It's bad enough that she's portrayed as obnoxious, but they really push it by giving her the whiny voice. Any minute I almost expect her to call for Beastly to go and attack the Care Bears. (since she and Shreiky seem to have the same VA)
Tomoyo-chan on CCS made me quickly give up on the dub. Listening to her valley girl teenager talk was just another nail in my coffin. Why do they have to cast voices way older sounding then the actual character? It's insane!!
*sigh* I'd like it better if they'd have people just talk normally. Personalities show up a lot more that way.
