.hack

Post by The Dream Master » Wed Jan 07, 2004 4:37 pm

Anyone like this series. One of my fav animes that I've seen. The second series is ok, and I've never played the games, or seen the other series that comes with the games, but .hack//SIGN is good, in my opinion. Anyone else like it?

I've seen about the first 10 episodes. I like it so far. I just have to get around to finishing all the anime I have... (I still have 3 series to finish..)

I saw it on CN and I really like it. The music is awesome. However, I need to see it uncut, cuz I'm sure a lot (or some) stuff was changed and it would probably make more sense. I can't seem to find the box set anywhere, but then, I haven't really been looking hard. I refuse to by individual DVDs of any series. I also am reading .hack//legend of the twilight, and I love it so far. I can't play the games cuz I don't have the right system.

Actually, I believe that the CN run was uncut, but I wasn't paying much attention to sites on its initial run so I'm not 100% sure on that. You're not going to be able to find a box of the series because (a) there isn't nor will there ever be a complete boxset availble for the series and (b) there was a box for the LE version of the first DVD which came out less than a year ago and has been sold out for a while. The only way to get all the DVDs is to buy them seperately.

I have all but the last DVD of .hack, LE versions of each release to get all the bonus stuff and CD with each one and the CD box with the most recent release. I plan on getting the last DVD LE when its released in a couple months. I decided to buy it after seeing the first few episodes on the CN run last year deciding it was good enough for me to buy and get the LE versions (which I'm glad I did, as online stores had just sold out of their preorder quotas for them like a day or two after I made the order). I've only watched the first one though since for various reasons I didn't get DVD2 until late summer around the same time DVD4 came out, so I decided to watch the rest when I have them all since it seems to be a show I wouldn't be able to wait for the rest and after the awesome looking and sounding DVDs, not willing to go to digisubs to finish it.

I want to play the games, but they take place after .hack//SIGN, so I want to wait until I see the series to play. I know that it doesn't have the same characters and all, but I'd still rather wait and experience everything in the order they're meant to be done in.

And yes, the music is awesome. Those CDs are among the best in my collection. Bandai is releasing them seperately (aside from them only being availble with the LE DVDs) so I would definetly recommend getting those as they come out.

Um, for the Box Set, you can get the box with Volume 5 ^_^ So you can get the box, just takes time. Anyway, I do like .hack, and I liked watching it on TV even if it was in English. Ha, I was thinking "Yay, I get it for free instead of the DVDs!" I was happy. For those 2 episodes I saw O_o I wish I could finish the series, but without Shugo, it isn't worth it. Damn that whinny kid! Tsukasa!!! Stop bitchin'! Sry, he angers me.

Nope, LE DVD5 came with the box to hold the CDs that came with LE DVDs 1 - 4, LE DVD1 had the series box.

I saw a few episodes on CN. I've also played a few of the games that I borrowed from a friend.

I had no idea that it didn't come as a complete box set. Bummer. *shakes fist* I coulda sworn I saw a magazine ad in...um...Anime Invasion?...for a "standard edition" box set that came with some extras. Or it might have been on the web... I must not have read it right or something, and it was a while ago. *sigh* I don't wanna spend that much money! It's the same with Outlaw Star, there may only be 3 discs, but they are REALLY EXPENSIVE. Ihateit!!

Going OT for a bit, Outlaw Star is 6 DVDs released in 3 2-disc set. Each volume is more than a normal DVD volume because it has 2 DVDs instead of one, in reality making that series cheaper that had it been released 1 disc per volume.

My god, you must all think I am a complete moron. I wondered why they were so expensive, because the...um...containers... :? for them look just like regular DVD boxes, and the prices on them always keep me from getting too close (If I start looking at them for long enough, I'm apt to buy them even tho I said I wasn't going to.) I guess they aren't as expensive as I thought. *raises hand* I am a moron who does not do any background research. Ever. My friend just told me they were really expensive because they crammed a lot of episodes on 3 disc, and I never investigated myself.
