About four or five years ago, I had to take a mandatory English class - I believe it was a Literature and Writing class, but right now I can't remember what it was exactly - and we had a project wherein we had to analyze some visual medium (this was coming off a few lectures discusssing the use of imagery in print ads), and so I chose this nice poster of Sailor Moon I have. I did pretty well, making up some BS about how the Soldiers' stares represent some feelings of disdain or some such. I also worked off the symmetry of the 10 characters, the empty spaces, the use of colors in the uniforms, etc. - it ended up being an art appreciation piece in the end, don't ask why such a thing was assigned in an English class. In the end, I was docked some points for my style of writing, as well as for coming off a little high-minded about myself.

The next semester, we began learning C++, and we had to write a program that would draw various shapes (triangles, circles, squares, etc). The instructors gave us freedom to write the code however we saw fit, so like many others, I made a little story about how the shapes were the attacks from the Shitennou (Four Kings of Heaven) while they assailed the Silver Millennium, and that selecting to see any one shape amounted to deflecting that attack (the program had to have some edutainment value). I believe I was docked points because I put too much emphasis on the story and not enough on the actual shape-drawing ^^;;

My final act of fan-boy-ism was a speech I had to give in a first-year Japanese class; I acted as Mewtwo (from Pokemon), just realizing that
he was a clone of Mew
. One kid liked it, everyone else was confused, and I felt like an idiot afterwards. I was actually going to do a skit featuring Sailor Moon and Squall (from Final Fantasy VIII) dolls for the second-year class, but reflection on the last year's failure quickly changed my mind about that.

In my Drama class my senior year of high school, my class did a play (it was a selection of poems about high school life) and I had three poems. For my final one (which was about wishing to be young and like fantasy again), they allowed my request to have Kaze ni Naritai play during my poem recital!

The only time I ever used anime in a school project was during my 12th grade year (I'm 20 now and in college). It was in a Computer class and I used Microsoft Publisher to make a Sailor Moon calendar. Each of the 12 months feature one of the senshi from the Memorial Music Box set (I'll make photos of it later if you'd like to see what I mean because I'm at school as I'm posting this.) If I recall correctly I got an A. That teacher didn't seem to care what the students did as long as something was handed in. I guess you can say I was sort of like a teacher's pet, but I dunno if I'd go that far. ^^;; My classmates didn't seem to care too much... and if they commented I didn't care... I didn't let them bother me. I really wish I could take more classes with that same teacher. She was really great. Don't take it the wrong way though... even at age 17-18 she was WAY older than me. lol

In my Communications class this semester, our first speech was a casual 1-minute one where we were supposed to bring in an item that was special to us and talk about it. I brought my Japanese Sailor Moon #8 manga (from the Infinity Arc, the one my teacher gave me in high school) and talked about how I've always been interested in other cultures (it's in Japanese), specifically that I'm taking Japanese and that I'm into anime. I also mentioned that when I first found Sailor Moon, I thought the idea of superhero girls was pretty special, since there aren't as many here in America.

In Math, we had to take a picture and redraw it on a large grid paper using only graph shapes (perabola, absolute value, cubic function etc.) It was hard work, but really fun ^_^. I drew Q-chan from Petshop of Horrors and ended up getting 83% on it (damn -_-; ).

Also, if this counts. In Socials, we have to create our own country (something I should be working on now  ). We have to draw a map of our country. When coming up with a shape, I was looking at my "jiggly" poster of Amazing Nurse Nanako and accidently began to draw the country in the shape of Nanako's breasts 0__o.

Oh, and I named all my major cities after the Senshi's castles.

In my english class this semester, we just finished reading the play Death of a Salesman. We were given a sheet with several assignments to choose from. I decided to do a soundtrack for the play (not very original because it turned out that two thirds of the class did a soundtrack) and we had to explain in paragraphs why the music we picked suited the play. I used background music from the anime, Being Touched (this music is played in episode 42 when Minako reflects on her past) and the violin instrumental of the Sailor Star Song. I also used Here We Go from PGSM.

For my English class, we were doing a collage on something we really liked. For my collage, I used pictures of my favorite anime couple, Usagi and Mamoru. I found the perfect pictures. I worked for four days and five hours each day on the collage.
Usagi and Mamoru are my favorite couple ever. Usagi and Mamoru forever!

I heardly talk about Sailor Moon due to social reason to whiich later on it was stupid to keep stuff for who you are. Well this year I told everyone I like Sailor Moon by writing a speech on how Sailor Moon is somewhat based on Mythology and I even brought my 2 mangas of Sailor Moon and R. One didn't like my speech and everyone asked me what Sailor Moon is about. Now I could talk about Sailor Moon without worries if I get make fun of.

Here are the ways I put SM in school:

*When asked to draw a "guardian" for our assigned planet in Science class, I ended up drawing Sailor Jupiter.

*(We were seriously asked to do this) In sex ed...we were asked to illustrate what we thought a g*y or l*sbian looked in our own eyes...I drew Sailor Uranus (bad me).

*When doing a project on the moon in 6th grade with the entire class, I drew a picture of SM to go with it.

*I put a note on the teacher's flowers (roses) saying "property of Tuxedo Kamen".

*When we were playing the recorder in music (5th grade), we had to make up our own song...so I ended up snatching Alan's flute song...hehehe.

I cannot talk about Sailor Moon or any other anime for the life of me with my friends without them giving me looks or making comments. The only place I can is in anime club, but even still I'm a newbie and "not a TRUE anime fan" At least I'm friends with the president of the club. I wish anime club at my school was like that person who would stay until 7 watching anime. School ends at 2:30 and the meeting ends at 3:30 and it's only once a week.

I did some more Sailor Moon stuff.

We're in our mystery unit, and we were given a sheet and told to watch a TV show with a mystery and record things like the protagonist, antagonist, the mystery, etc. I ended up watching Episode 3 (Mysterious Sleeping Illness! Defend Young Girls' Loving Hearts) and recorded Usa as the protagonist and Jeddy as the antagonist.

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

Seventh grade: Everyone was going to write essays about something they liked. I wrote about Rumiko Takahashi and her manga Ranma 1/2. I presented the info about her that I had found at the back of the first Ranma-manga (which was the only manga I had that she had made), then I showed print outs from the manga. After that lesson, I was classified as 'perverted geek'.

Eight grade: During french-class. The substitute teacher told everyone to introduce themself in french. I presented me and told I liked Sailor Moon.
The reaction; she scolded me for saying Sailor Moon in english. She said I had to say that in french. I didn't even know how to say it in french, and I still don't.

In ninth grade, special class...
1. I wanted to write about Naoko Takeuchi. But the teacher said no, because he didn't knew who it was. I got mad and wrote nothing. But I did that essay in an adult-class, and I got MVG (Pass with special distinction) by the english-teacher. Imagine her look when I gave her the essay; 24 pages of info about Takeuchi-sensei and her mangas, including pictures. And in english.

2. Everyone was suppose to write about how they thought our small suburban would look like year 2100. I grinned, grabbed the first best computer and wrote a fanfic, featuring Sailor Moon, the Final Fantasy 7-cast and my own characters. I placed them in a desolated and polluted version of my hometown.
The teacher read it and made a face. He muttered something and gave me VG (Pass with distinction). Then, without my approval, he printed out copies and gave it to the other kids in the class (there were about 7 kids, except me). Since then, I was teased for liking Sailor Moon.

In Adult-class. I was around 18-19. The english-teacher said that it was time for everyone to bring a movie and I was first out. I showed everyone the second Sailor Moon-movie in japanese with english subtitle. The guys left and the girls yawned. My teacher was the only one who was impressed over the art and script, plus she loved Luna's voice. In the others eyes, I was a retard moron.
My youtube-account / My multiply-account

I dunno. I was just looking at it and I suddenly got this urge to get inside. No, not just an urge - more than that. It was my destiny to be here; in the box. And then when I put it on, I suddenly got this feeling of inner peace. I can´t put it into words. I feel... safe. Like this is where I was meant to be. Like I´d found the key to true happiness.

Two things that were this last semester (I just finished my sophomore year of college) both in Japanese class:

-We were supposed to do mini-dialogues in Japanese about cars at one point, but since I don't know how to drive (well, I took a class but driving scared me too much; I take the bus to school instead of driving) and thus don't know much about cars, the teacher allowed me to make up my own dialogue, so I pretended I was Haruka Tenou and did an introduction for her, since she likes car racing. No one made fun of me, by the way, at least in my college no one makes fun of you for liking anime.

-On the final day of class before the final in Japanese class, we got to bring in anime. I brought in Azumanga Daioh, which I think weirded out some people (the main scene that we watched was Tomo and Yomi arguing because Tomo kept wanting to copy Yomi's notes). Then another boy had Ghost in the Shell, which was confusing since, like me, he didn't start at the beginning of the series, but he had a very helpful commentary that explained things. Finally, we watched parts of My Neighbor Totoro. The last two were in raw Japanese, so it was a challenge of our Japanese skills.

I know this is off topic, but is there a reason why this topic got relocated to the Other Anime and Manga section?

More on topic though, during my past year in college, I drew the cell phone from PGSM in Corel Draw from scratch. I don't know how well I did on that assignment though because our prof didn't give us our marks back.

I'm going to move this to the anime forum, as this is becoming an "anime at school" sort of thing moreso than just sailor moon.
Because people were mentioning non-sailormoon anime in their work (including me and my Nanako breast island :P)

I did another anime-related project in school recently. In Video/Flim we had to make a music video. For music I used the Cutie Honey theme (the original version) and did a reenactment of the original Cutie Honey opening with figurines. It was pretty cool, everyone in the class made fun of me, but I worked hard and it payed off. I got a perfect score throughout the whole year. :D
