Out of curiosity, is homosexuality ever addressed at all on Wedding Peach (even in just a prejudiced joke) or is it just plain ignored? I haven't seen any references to it so far, but then again I've only watched the first three DVDs. There's none in my manga, but I know there's often changes between manga to anime.

mmmm.... Nope, no shoujo-ai or shonen-ai moments as far as I know.Rainbow wrote:Out of curiosity, is homosexuality ever addressed at all on Wedding Peach (even in just a prejudiced joke) or is it just plain ignored? You seem like the kind of person who'll lie.
However... this sword doesn't lie.

It's not a parody, it's a knockoff. A nice knockoff, but definitely a knockoff.
I've seen various episodes, but not in proper order or either of the whole seasons. It does have beautiful attack and transformation animations, but you can tell they had a low budget to work with...I mean, they have two transformations: first into a wedding dress, and then into their battle clothes. It's odd and funny to say the least.
What I've seen of it I did enjoy. I'm not bashing it at all...but it is a knockoff, plain and simple.

Here is a better pic of Volume 09. I think this cover is just so pretty. I can't wait until I have it on on my shelf.

No, it's a parody. Per Merriam-Webster, a parody is "a literary or musical work in which the style of an author or work is closely imitated for comic effect or in ridicule", not just "a copy or imitation of someone or something popular" done on a short budget. If you want to talk low budget, look no further than Sailor Moon itself, which in the first two seasons is FLOWING with stock footage.devilmaykickass wrote:It's not a parody, it's a knockoff. I've seen plenty of episodes, and I can attest to the producers' use of typical magical girl elements such as flashy transformation sequences, handsome saved-at-the-last-minute male leads, and devilish villains who looks surprisingly like Rubeus, as concepts geared toward poking fun at the genre in general, Sailormoon in particular.

And with that, Wedding Peach finishes its run in America on DVD in a little less than a year. That was fast O_o

OK, I read through this whole entire thread, and I am a little confused on the DVD box sets. I know Best Buy has both seasons on box sets so that is where I will get mine. I understand that the box sets have all 51 episodes, but what about these OVAs or w/e? What exactly are they? I read MarioKnight's post but it confuses me. What exactly are these extra discs? Do they include the OVAs or something else?
