Oops. I misread the post. My answer to Dinozore's question got squished in there, which is why I thought it was mine in the first place.

Wedding Peach is more of a clone than Sailormoon than an actual parody of it..that's what I originally meant to say. Wedding Peach tries to take itself seriously most of the time, just like in the manga. But the idea of girls fighting in wedding dresses is REALLY hard to take seriously.

No, the mini-skirt dresses aren't wedding dresses. But the Wedding Peach superheroes don't have one transformation, they have two. First they transform into the wedding dresses, then into the smaller outfits you're probably thinking of. The transformation into the wedding dress first is so they can channel the power of love better.

51 episodes. Whether or not the 3 OAVs will ever come is still unknown.

I have a high tolerance for cute things, and Wedding Peach pushed my tolerance for cute things over its limit. I've only seen the first couple of episodes, but you need an extremely high tolerance for cute fuzzy fluffy things to really get into this.

Jamapi does scream "Make me a plushie!" though. :D

ADV released details on how Wedding Peach will be released yesterday. The series will be in two boxes, each box holding six discs. One of the discs in each of those boxes will be an extras disc, and only availble with the box. Boxes with the extras disc for that box will be released with DVDs 1 and 7. The show itself if anyone doesn't want the boxes or extras discs will be on 10 DVDs, 9 of the TV series, 1 with the OAVs.

My comments, THIS is the treatment shoujo anime deserves, I give ADV a lot of props for coming up with a good release format for this series. Hopefully Sailormoon is an isolated incident on their treatment on shoujo anime and they continue to treat more shoujo as well as they treated this. However, I made the same comments prior to SM being released and look what happened to those discs, but I have a feeling that these Wedding Peach discs will fare a lot better off already seeing these plans.

Monster Island is ADV's dubbing studio in Austin (their main one in Houston is called Industrial Smoke & Mirrors). I can't really judge them much as I haven't heard very much (just a little bit of Nadia and Soul Hunter), but supposedly they've had some pretty bad problems with both script and acting in the past, and many complain that the quality of their work isn't on par with that of IS&M. I've heard pretty good comments on some recent MI dubs (Devil Lady, Final Fantasy Unlimited, Happy Lesson), so perhaps this one will turn out well, too. The ADR director is new from what I've heard, so there's no track record to go on him. Hope it turns out well. The more good mahou shoujo dubs (to make up for the failures of "Cardcaptors" and Sailor Moon), the better. ;)

Some people consider Monster Island to be the worst recording group from ADV. Only the least popular/least cared about anime from ADV get this voice recording group to do voices.

EmperorBrandon, I've heard Final Fantasy Unlimited and Happy Lesson dubbed, and I can tell you, they're not good..

ADV only has two studios, Industrial Smoke & Mirrors and Monster Island. These two pretty much handle all of the work (the only exceptions were Arc the Lad, Wild Arms, and You're Under Arrest. First two were outsourced to Bang Zoom!, and latter-mentioned was outsourced to Coastal Carolina) They have a lot of dubbing work to do, so they have to have more than one in-house locations to get there work done. It is true, however, that ADV hands almost all of its bigger titles (the ones they know will be popular) to IS&M.

I've never heard either of them, I was just going from what I've heard on them so far, which has been much more positive then some of Monster Island's earlier dubs, like Samurai X.

Frankly, what I've heard of Nadia wasn't really that bad, either. I took issue with Jean's annoying accent (which wasn't pulled off real well, IMO), but all-in-all, I thought it was pretty decent.

I have the first DVD of Wedding Peach the same day I got "Star Trek 2: "The Wrath of Khan". Luckily I have the second volume of "Wedding Peach" in the original Japanese. (Okay, you can tell I'm just plain bonkers over Star Trek and Anime. )
"Oh yeah. Someone is definitely tired of breathing." ("The Main Man", Part 1)

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.
