Wedding Peach

Personally, I'm not a fan of the series, but what do the rest of you think of it, seeing how the anime and manga have both been licensed (and the first half of the manga already released)?

I have the first three volumes of the manga. Love love love it!!! Momoko is so awesome to see grow through this. I don't know why, but the whole wedding concept is just too cute. I just can't wait for the 4th volume.

I hope they release the anime soon. ^_^

I wanted to give this series a chance but I saw the first two episodes of the anime (fansubs), and it looked like a bad BSSM parody.

It is a parody of Sailormoon -- pii. In fact, The Japanese voice actor For Angel Daisy is the VA for Usagi/Sailormoon. XD! I've only seen a bit of the WP fansubs, and that was WeddingPeach DX, I liked it. ^_^ I thought it was terriably cute for a SM knock-off. I so desperatly want to see the regular WeddingPeach series. I just hope they don't give thimg horrible English VAs.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

As tempy said..it IS a BSSM parody, and they know it. I want to see this, as it looks very cute.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I doubt that it's going to be dubbed professionally (fandub maybe) because of the bad review it got in an anime magazine.

I personally like it, but what would you expect from a BSSM, MKR, and Tokyo Mew Mew fan? I'm a fan of those superhero girl-team stories!

All I have is the first three manga, and there's a story behind it. In my town, there's a place that sells anime/manga/American comics. The owner put the first WP manga on order for me in June, and then it didn't get in until October, at the last minute almost because the place closed. :( Then yesterday the second and third manga came in at another comic shop in town, so I got those. I think the owner is looking out for me because the first order took so long...he's much nicer than the Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons. (by the way, the long wait wasn't his fault, I think it was the fault of the company they were getting the manga from)

The first DVD comes out from ADV on 9th March, for $30, or $40 with a box. It has 6 episodes, subtitled and dubbed. Cover art here:

And here's the artbox for the first half the series (guaranteed to be the pinkest thing on your shelf!):

Wow! You just proved ME wrong about it not being released in America! I'll be looking forward to March 9 then.

Hmm, I like the Manga, but I like it when I make up my own voices than listening to the Anime part. I would probably download a bit of an episode to see if I like the original voices. I only have volume 1 of Wedding Peach because it is a pain to find out here v_v Hopefully, I got volume 2 for X-mas. ^_^

I have been wanting to see Wedding Peach and anything else that's a parody of Sailormoon. :P

Is it actually a parody? I seem to remember someone saying that it came out at almost the same time. iirc, people were always arguing that one of the two shows were copying off the other...
"Tell my tale to those who ask... tell it truthfully, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence..." last words of Dinobot, "Code of Hero"
"Is that a poisonous elephant in your pocket or are you happy to see me?" ~another forum
"Monster! I''''m going to collide with you indefinitely as my limbs flail wildly about!" ~NPC, Dragon Warrior VII
"I bet you were thinking how hot it would be to see Tsunade with her gates wide open, inviting you..." ~DuneMan
"To use gaming terms, Tyrannosaurus Rex was a camper--- and he pwned his prey!" ~BaronVonAwesome
"I prefer to beat my opponents the old-fashioned way: brutally!" ~Dinobot

I'm not sure whether it's a parody or just inspired by Sailor Moon. Tokyo Mew Mew and Ojamajo Doremi both seem rather similar too.

So it's finally being brought to America? I saw some of the manga at my bookstore. The art was so different from the anime. All I can say is...I like the anime designs way better.

I only have the translated manga, so I have a question about the Japanese anime. Is it true that Hinagiku uses "ore" for I? (that's supposed to be super-masculine, right?)

Oh, it is definitely a parody. A very blantant one, at that. Those who haven't seen the anime yet, be glad. Stick with the manga instead.

I think was Dinozore's original question meant was: Was it an OFFICIAL parody, as in, was it intended to just parodize Sailor Moon, or was it just another generic magical girl anime? (which, come on people, sailor moon is.)

And I'd love to see it even if it's a parody. I love magical shoujo, and this is no exception. The fact that it's a parody doesn't bother me.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.

That was MY question, not Dinozore's. And...YES!! Tiff and I actually agree on something!
