Anime Recommendations?

Post by Starscream » Sat Nov 29, 2003 10:36 pm

Well, I'll be leaving again soon ('round the 16th or so of December) for the Christmas break, and since I don't plan on bringing my anime collection with me, I was wondering if anyone here could recommend some BT'd and fansubbed anime for the break. I'm looking for something in the Cowboy Bebop genre; that is, drama with a hint of comedy, but nothing too fantasy (couldn't get into Scrapped Princess because of that). Thanks all!

Fry: "I refuse to testify on the grounds that my organs will be chopped up into a patty."
Judge: "Ah, the 67th Amendment."

I liked Scrapped Princess. I *heart* Requel and Seness.

Well if you can find it, Licensed by Royal is pretty good. It was licensed and will be released soon, so I'm not sure if you can get your hands on it. It's a British Spy anime thinige. ^_^ I also *heart* Row, Claire, Jack and Noel.

Manatei Loki Ragnarok is also good. The Norse God Loki was expelled from the world of the Gods and lives in the world of humans, trapped in the body of a child and it's set in modern day times. Getting past the confusion of episode 1, It gets really good later on. More on the *heart* list is Narugami and Freyer.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I know this isn't really Cowboy Bebop-ish but I heard in your other post that you liked Naruto from Shounen Jump? Well, the anime is being fansubbed and released on BT. This site has all the torrents for almost every new anime people are fansubbing (including PGSM): http://www.animesuki.com

Temp: I'm DLing MLR as we speak, so I'll get back to you with my opinions as soon as I get a chance to watch it :)

Sakuya: Thanks for the input, but I'm gonna stick with the manga for now. I don't want to run into the same problems that I have with Shaman King (the opening sequence spoiled a whole lot of the rest of the series for me >< )

yoshmaster5: I've already seen Kodocha, and I agree, it rocks :)
