I love tokyo mew mew!
Kinda OT: The best places to find them: In Georgia, I found my book on a band trip in the bookstore of the CNN Studios building. In Tennessee, or In Nashville, Borders close to Centennial Sportsplex is the best place to find ALL kinds of anime and manga!
I like ichigo because her name means strawberry and that's my favorite fruit. I got the info on her name in the 6th volume.
crap. spoilers never work for me!

Sailor Pan, you need to input your birthday immediately if you wish to keep posting here. It's in the rules.
Also, you may want to change that font color. It's a killer on the eyes.
Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I also like Tokyo Mew Mew a lot, even if a lot of it isn't really new to me since it's a magical girl show. I've only seen the two first episodes but read all the manga. I must say I was quite disappointed by its follower Toyko Mew Mew à la Mode! It just was TOO cheesy... and even more clichés than the first TMM.

I started watching the dubbed episodes on TV a while ago, because I was rejoicing that they were showing anime other than Yu-gi-oh.
But anyway, the dub is goddamn awful. And that's putting it lightly. The girl's ages are now somewhere around the regions of 15-16, which is....strange. The title music is of course gone, and replaced with a song that sounds very familar to that song they used for the English Live Action Sailor Moon thing that they were pitching. Apparently it's the same girl singing it, or maybe they were referring to the anime dub song.
But the worst part (in my opinion) is how much they've butchered the music in the actual show. They've got this weird guitar-strumming cues when somebody has a sweat-drop moment. >< Oh, and they use the opening credits music for when the girls do their "Metamorpheus" thing, which just completely stuffs up the whole point of the henshins. It's pretty cut up as well.
That all said, it is a cute series for little girls in the English speaking world, but to me it's another case of SM all over again.
Speaking of SM, I once got some copies of the henshin scenes in TMM and compared them to the henshin and attack scenes in SM, and the similarities is scary. >< I'll post some if anybody's interested.

I have not been able to keep up with the anime series. It's on too early for me. And after watching a couple episodes I'm still not sure if the dub is for me.
I liked Tokyo Mew Mew a La Mode. Yeah, I admit the plot was quick, but it was still so cute. But then again, maybe I'm just a sucker for a good love story. Who knows...

I enjoyed this series, but a few things bothered me about it.
For one, they focused way to much on Ichigo. I know she's the main character and all, but the other girls didn't get much spotlight and they weren't really developed all that well. It got to the point where I was groaning when Ichigo was on the screen or when she transformed.
Ichigo and Masaya's relationship kind of irritated me. It was way too sappy and Masaya was just too perfect that he got boring rather quickly. Even the end didn't really do anything for me when we found out about him. I wish they gave him more flaws, that would have maybe helped.
I did enjoy the series though, I just wish they focused more on other characters, like Zakuro. They show bits of her past and it's never really followed up upon. They also didn't show her transformation enough, and I found it to be rather sexy.
I got to watch all the episodes at youtube. Unfortunantly, the subtitles for episode 3 gave a new meaning to the word eye strain.

I wouldn't have cared what 4kids did with Tokyo Mew Mew as long as they released it uncut, unedited and properly subtitled, not the dubtitle crap they were doing with Yu-Gi-Oh and Shaman King. And I was absolutely disgusted that they even thought of calling it Hollywood Mew Mew.
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

I recently saw the second opening to the TMM anime. It bothered me to the end since it was almost JUST like the first opening.
Wow, honestly, one could think that the makers should have put more effort in this. o_O But I still think that it's a cute anime, and an even cuter manga ^^
Oh and btw: Now that someone mentioned Aoyama's perfect being: Yes, I also hated the way he had so little flaws and stuff. I never questioned that before o_o Maybe I just never paid attention to a boring character like him? Maybe?

My opinion.
As far as I'm concerned, it's basically a spin-off of Sailor Moon. Still good, though.
Okay, so "spin-off" wasn't the right word to use, but you people know what I mean, right?

I picked up the first volume of this book about two weeks ago and I think it is absolutely adorable. The concept and the characters are so cute. Heck, everything about the book is cute, lol. I did buy the second volume today but I probably won't be able to read it until later this week. At my closest Borders, they didn't have volume two so I went to a further one where they only had one copy of this volume. Fortunately, I called them ahead of time and asked them to hold it for me because I don't know if it would have been there by the time I got there. It seems like a popular series.

It's cute. It's pretty much the same as the the regular Tokyo MewMew, only with Mew Berry added. If you like TMM, you'd like A La Mode.*Eternal Moon* wrote:Does anyone know if Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode is worth reading? I haven't heard a lot of positive things about it and I don't want to waste my money on books I don't like. What are your opinions of it?
